Best Matchups Bets for the 2020 DP World Tour Championship

With the pricing a bit tight across the matchups this week, it took some digging to uncover a trio of “underdogs” that warrant serious consideration.

After sifting through the selection, here are my top three DP World Tour Championship head-to-head picks.

The two favorites, according to the safest betting sites, arrive at the Jumeirah Golf Estates with strong form in their corners. And while neither man fared particularly well at the Earth Course in 2019, both have stellar records at this venue overall.

Reed is rested since a T10 at Augusta, while Hatton played the RSM Classic (the following week) and went out on a high note.

Frankly, I’m not actively trying to fade Patrick Reed in Dubai. However, I love the opportunity to back Tyrrell Hatton at even money in a head-to-head matchup.

Back-to-back wins over the past two weeks in South Africa will have many targeting Christiaan Bezuidenhout in DP World Tour Championship matchup picks. With that being said, back-to-back victories hint at a player who may have already peaked. Not to mention, Bezuidenhout had to travel some 8-10 hours in the air after hoisting the trophy last weekend.

On the flip side, Robert MacIntyre played in the Golf in Dubai Championship right here at the Jumeirah Golf Estates this past week (T19). The Scotsman’s recent flurry of superb golf (3rd-1st-6th in three November events) has me intrigued, not to mention, Robert shot seven-under-par over the weekend at the 2019 DP World Tour Championship to land 14th. I expect MacIntyre to be even better this time around.

Romain Langasque will surely be inspired after watching a fellow countryman emerge on the Fire Course. The problem is I’m a bit unsure where Romain’s game is at after taking more than a month off since his last competition.

I feel a lot more confident in Scott Jamieson.

While Langasque hasn’t competed since early October, Jamieson has been busy racking up good finishes. In the last three weeks alone, the 37-year-old has gone T20-T6-T32.
