Best Matchup Bets for the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship

It’s that time of the week to exploit the golf matchups. The name of the game is to capture as much value as possible, and I’ve managed to do that in Jackson.
From taking advantage of price discrepancies to not having to lay a single penny of juice, here are my Sanderson Farms Championship head-to-head picks.
Bud Cauley vs. Emiliano Grillo
Both of these guys are fantastic players with lots of upside, but let’s get right the good stuff.
BetOnline installed Cauley at +5000 to win the golf tournament. Bud’s sitting at +500 to land a top-10 finish. Those very same oddsmakers plugged Grillo in at +4000 to win and +450 to finish inside the top-10.
So why the heck is Emiliano a +110 underdog in this Sanderson Farms Championship head-to-head matchup?
I can’t answer that question, but I sure as heck can jump on the Chris Como student at this salivating price tag.

Sebastian Munoz vs. Adam Long
As the defending champion of this event, additional obligations could cut into Sebastian Munoz’s normal routine. I wouldn’t be overly concerned with him shooting 17-over-par over the weekend at Winged Foot, but 77-82 in his last two rounds doesn’t exactly exude confidence.
When I look at Adam Long and ponder how his week will play out, I see lots of positives brewing. 13th and 5th in two most recent starts (US Open, Punta Cana) suggest that another stellar performance is in store.
I picked Long to win, and I doubled down by touting him as one of my favorite Sanderson Farms DFS picks. I may as well hop on board in a matchup and squeeze out some more shares.

Carlos Ortiz vs. Lucas Glover
Don’t get too caught up in Lucas Glover’s 17th-place finish at the US Open. The brutal setup at Winged Foot played right into Glover’s hands and his prowess off the tee shined through.
Moving over to the Country Club of Jackson – where it’ll be more of a short game/putting contest, we need to downgrade Lucas’ projections. After all, this is a golfer who missed four straight cuts before tying for 65th at the Safeway Open.
On the other hand, a player whose expectations are sky-high this week is Carlos Ortiz.
This Sanderson Farms Championship sleeper finished 3rd here in 2018 and 4th in 2019. Carlos is also much steadier near the putting surfaces which makes him easier to rely on in an H2H pick.
Case in point – Glover ranked 177th last season in SG: Around-the Green while Ortiz clocked in 20th.
