Best Horse Racing Bets for Tuesday, September 29, 2020

| September 29, 2020 12:08 am PDT

Despite the brevity of some of my coverage today, I found a number of underdog contenders that could result in some significant additions to our bankrolls at the three-horse race tracks I assessed today.

The brevity stems from the relative lack of any realistic wager opportunities in the races I selected for value show bets—horses that probably won’t win but are quite likely to finish in the money.

So without further shilly-shallying, let’s move on to the summary of my picks and predictions for Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Good luck!

Today’s Best Bets for Indiana Grand Race Course

  • Race 3: Win: Colonel Hubert 9/5 (win)
  • Race 4: Win: Azzaro Street 3/1 (win)
  • Race 5: Win: Carimba 1/1 (win)
  • Race 5: Show: Lettered Olive 20/1 (show)

While I agreed with the morning line in all three of the races I selected at Indiana Grand for today, I did find a solid longshot show ticket in race 5.  Other than that, you’re going to have to settle for small wins here.

My Best Bets for Parx Racing Today

  • Race 6: I’m the Talent 4/1 (win)
  • Race 8: Puttheglassdown 3/1 (win)
  • Race 9: Flowmotion 5/2 (win)

The wagering opportunities at Parx racing today are a definite improvement over the previous day’s fare. I found a third-favored underdog in race 6 and a second-favored in race 8, but I couldn’t disagree with M/L about the favorite in race 9. Sadly, I found no long-odds entries in any of the races I selected that could be considered value show bets.

My Tuesday Best Bets for Thistledown Racino

  • Race 2: Three Illusions 5/2 (win)
  • Race 2: Paint Dakota 9/2 (across the board)
  • Race 5: Double Deep 6/1 (win)
  • Race 7: Cat Heat 6/1 (win)

Thistledown turned out to be my new favorite track today. Despite the absence of legitimate value show bet prospects, I found fourth-favored underdogs in all three of the races I selected. Of course, I hedged my bets in race 2 with a win ticket recommendation on the M/L favorite, but I still noted the fourth-favored entry in that race for an across-the-board. If you’re hesitant, just bet my straight win recommendation.

But the fourth-favored in races 5 and 7 got my unqualified support for win tickets.
