Best Horse Racing Bets for Saturday, October 24, 2020

I found an embarrassment of great and interesting wagers in today’s races. For the record, I reviewed the Saturday race-cards for Golden Gate Fields, Keeneland Race Course, and Santa Anita Park to find the nine races I assessed in detail.

From claiming, allowance, and maiden races at all three tracks to the hotly-contested Senator Ken Maddy Stakes (Grade III) at Santa Anita, today’s predictions and picks offer a veritable cornucopia of underdog challengers, bargain show bets, and even a trifecta.

While I stuck by the morning line for races 8 and 9, I found a solid fourth-favored contender in race 4. Plus, I found a rare long-odds value show bet that is actually good enough to recommend as an across the board wager in race 8.

My three choices of races at Keeneland Race Course turned out to be the most prolific providers of both underdogs and long-odds moneymakers. I picked a third-favored entry in race 4, a second-favored (5/1) in race 7, and in race 9, well, I stuck with the morning line’s favorite. But I also found yet another rare show/across the board prospect in race 9, plus 20/1 longshots for value show bets in races 4 and 7.

Saturday is shaping up to be a very good day.

Pickings were a bit slim for long-odds value bets at Santa Anita, but everything else was hitting on all cylinders today. I stuck with the morning line’s choices in races 1 and 8, but I found a very capable fourth-favored (4/1) entry in race 5. Only one 12/1 long-odds value bet (race 1), but the Senator Ken Maddy Stakes (race 8) gave me the one trifecta for today’s predictions.
