Best Horse Racing Bets for Thursday, November 26, 2020

| November 25, 2020 1:22 pm PDT

I picked Churchill Downs, Del Mar Racing, and Laurel Park to review for Thursday’s picks and predictions, and as usual, Churchill Downs once again delivered the underdogs and value show bets.

Incidentally, both Churchill Downs and Del Mar are hosting graded stakes races Thursday — Churchill Downs has the Falls City Handicap (Grade II), and Del Mar brings us the Red Carpet Handicap (Grade III).

Read on for the summary of my horse racing predictions for Thursday, November 26, 2020.

Good luck!

Churchill Downs Predictions for Thursday

  • Race 8: Secondary Market 7/2 (win)
  • Race 8: A.P. Princess 20/1 (show)
  • Race 9: Tough Love 7/2 (win)
  • Race 9: High Crime 15/1 (show)
  • Race 10: Bonny South 8/5 (win)
  • Race 10: Cash Out 20/1 (show)

The three races I chose to review at Churchill Downs for Thursday have what we crave (not, not electrolytes): Plenty of profitable underdogs and viable show-bet longshots.

I found two 20/1 longshots (races 8 and 10), along with a 15/1 value bet in race 9. And of course, races 8 and 9 provided me with two second-favored entries to tout for the win, although I had to give the morning line respect in race 10 (the Grade II Falls City Handicap) and call the race for the favorite.

Thursday Picks for Del Mar Racing

  • Race 2: Cool Your Jets 3/1 (win)
  • Race 4: Over Attracted 4/1 (win)
  • Race 4: Resarcio 15/1 (show)
  • Race 6: Orglandes 5/2 (win)

Del Mar was more than a tad stingy for the three Thursday races I chose for review, and I wound up going with the morning line favorite in two of the races (the second-favored entry in race 4 was my only exception). Plus, I found a viable long-odds show ticket in only one (race 4).

Even the Grade III Red Carpet Handicap (race 6) was sadly devoid of sleepers, underdogs, and long-odds surprises. Oh, it’ll be a great race, to be sure, but sheesh — we’re here for the betting.

My Thursday Predictions for Laurel Park

  • Race 3: Peachy Keen 1/1 (win)
  • Race 5: Natty Beau 9/5 (win)
  • Race 7: Bendandjoe 3/1 (win)

If Del Mar was stingy, Laurel Park was positively parsimonious, offering me no viable show bets and only one 3/1 underdog upon which to pin my dreams of early retirement. Ah well. There’s always the lottery…
