Best Horse Racing Bets for Wednesday, January 6, 2021

| January 5, 2021 1:09 pm PDT

I went with Delta Downs, Gulfstream Park, and Fair Grounds Race Course for Wednesday’s racing reviews, and I’m glad I did. All three tracks had something of value to offer — and when I say “something of value,” I mean solid opportunities to place wagers on some very plausible sleepers, underdogs, and longshots.

Read on for the summary of my horse racing picks and predictions for Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

Good luck!

Delta Downs Predictions for Wednesday

  • Race 1: Into Victory 9/5 (win)
  • Race 2: Reason Why 3/1 (win)
  • Race 2: Mamas Gone Crazy 20/1 (show)
  • Race 8: Broadway Jones 5/1 (win)
  • Race 8: Tactical Priority 15/1 (show)

I found underdogs and show-bet values at Delta downs for Wednesday, with a 20/1 longshot in race 2 the highlight of my day.

There’s that second-favored underdog choice in race 2, of course. Throw in that 15/1 value show ticket in race 8 along with a third-favored underdog in the same race, and we have the makings of a very good wagering Wednesday indeed.

Get a closer look at my picks for Wednesday’s three richest races at Delta Downs.

Wednesday’s Picks for Fair Grounds Race Course

  • Race 6: Real News 9/5 (win)
  • Race 7: Kadesh 3/1 (win)
  • Race 8: Take That for Data 4/1 (win)
  • Race 8: Foldover 12/1 (show)

Fair Grounds was a bit stingy with both the underdogs and the long-odds moneymakers, but the track managed to yield up both a second-favored contender as well as a 12/1 value show ticket in race 8.

And those two favorites I backed in race 6 and race 7? Hey, sometimes the morning line is right. You could look it up.

My Wednesday Predictions for Gulfstream Park

  • Race 3: Skyfly 9/5 (win)
  • Race 6: State Crown 5/2 (win)
  • Race 6: Romantical Note 12/1 (show)
  • Race 9: Lookin At Roses 4/1 (win)
  • Race 9: Target Tales 20/1 (show)

Gulfstream Park is my favorite track for Wednesday wagering — at least it is for this Wednesday. From two long-odds value bets — including a 20/1 longshot in race 9 — to a couple of underdog prospects (races 6 and 9), the moneymaking opportunities just kept coming.

Nothing like some good underdogs and longshots to really put a shine on one’s investment portfolio, right?
