Best Horse Racing Bets for Friday, January 29, 2021

I liked Aqueduct Racetrack, Fair Grounds Race Course, and Gulfstream Park so much Thursday that I decided to review them again for Friday — and the profit opportunities they presented were even stranger and more deeply hidden than before.

With that, let’s get right to the summary of my picks and predictions for Friday, January 29, 2021.

My win recommendations above conceal some deeply hidden underdogs, including a seventh-favored (or least-likely-to-win, if you prefer) win pick in race 4 and a slightly less unlikely third-favored choice in race 1. Unfortunately, I found no long-odds value show tickets to tout, but such is life.

Fair Grounds really came through for us with surprises, even though I wound up backing the morning line favorites in race 4 and 6.

In race 8, I found a second-favored entry with winning potential — and then I found a sleeper at 8/1 morning-line odds that had nearly the same potential, so you get to pick the one you like best.

All three of the races I reviewed at Fair Grounds for Friday are turf runs (unless conditions force a move to the main track), so there are if-then win choices for races 4 and 6, as well as an if-then for a value show ticket in race 6, surprisingly enough.

Gulfstream Park had the most normal (if such a word applies these days) picks, requiring me to back the morning line favorite in race 5. Still, I found second-favored horses in both race 7 and race 9 to tout.

It also helps that I found two fair-to-middlin’ value show bets, one at 15/1 in race 7 and another at 10/1 in race 9. Not great, but not bad, either.
