Best Horse Racing Bets for Friday, January 22, 2021

| January 21, 2021 1:33 pm PDT

I liked the three tracks I chose yesterday so much I decided to review them again for the Friday predictions.

And while I didn’t find quite the volume of lucrative wagers I saw yesterday, I’m going to call Friday’s review a qualified success because I still found plenty of good wagers to be made at Fair Grounds Race Course, Gulfstream Park, and Aqueduct Racetrack.

So, read on for the summary of my horse racing picks for Friday, January 22, 2021.

Good luck!

Friday Picks for Aqueduct Racetrack

  • Race 1: O’Trouble 1/1 (win)
  • Race 1: Rapido Gatta 20/1 (show)
  • Race 4: Dial Me Up 7/2 (win)
  • Race 7: Miss Comedian 5/1 (win)
  • Race 7: Take It Off 12/1 (show)

Aqueduct Racetrack had a good mix of underdogs and surprise moneymakers for us on Friday. While I stuck with the morning line’s choice for race 1, I found a second-favored prospect in race 4 at 7/2, as well as a third-favored challenger in race 7 at 5/1 to keep our bankrolls happy.

And then there were the long-odds show tickets — I found a 20/1 longshot in race 1 and a 12/1 candidate in race 7 — both of them very much worth a show bet.

My Friday Predictions for Fair Grounds Race Course

  • Race 3: Dance Away 7/2 (win)
  • Race 3: I Dont Know Either 12/1 (show)
  • Race 7: Quikfast N Ahurry 6/1 (win)
  • Race 8: Off We Go 7/2 (win)

Fair Grounds was a bit stingy with the value show bet candidates but was positively magnanimous with the underdogs in the three races I reviewed for Friday.

I found second-favored prospects in race 3 and 8, but in race 7, I found a fifth-favored entrant hidden among the three 6/1 morning-line afterthoughts.

Throw in the 12/1 value show ticket I discovered in race 3, and we’ve got the makings of a good day at the track.

Gulfstream Park Picks for Friday

  • Race 6: No Commission 5/2 (win)
  • Race 8: Miss Miami 3/1 (win)
  • Race 8: Distinctly Blue 8/1 (show)
  • Race 9: Whyruawesome 4/1 (win)
  • Race 9: Sagamore Mischief 15/1 (show)

Gulfstream Park was the most restrained of the three tracks I reviewed for Friday, with the majority of my win-picks going to morning-line favorites and none of the value show tickets I recommend being in the longshot category.

Still, even the M/L favorites in races 6 and 8 are at longer odds than you might expect, so let’s count that as a plus and move on, what do you say.
