Best Horse Racing Bets for Wednesday, January 20, 2021

I think you’ll find dirt and turf competition to spare at the three thoroughbred tracks I chose for Wednesday’s reviews.

After days of slim pickings in the underdog/value show ticket department, Parx Racing has stepped up for us with several of both. And the other two tracks I reviewed — Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs — were only slightly less generous.

All told, the three tracks offered up some good long-odds show bets as well as some underdog contenders to embiggen our bankrolls this fine Wednesday.

I had to go with the morning line’s choices in all three of the races I reviewed for Wednesday at Gulfstream Park.

I did, at least, find a 12/1 value show wager in race 6, so we’ve got that going for us.

Parx Racing came through for us for Wednesday, with a couple of underdogs—a second-favored entry at 3/1 in race 5 and a 4/1 underdog in race 9.

Nice, right? And don’t get me started on the two solid 15/1 show wager prospects I discovered in races 8 and 9.

Underdogs prevailed at Tampa Bay Downs, as well, with races 6 and 9 yielding second-favored entries.

I found a value show ticket prospect in race 9, and while 10/1 is about as slender as I want to get with the M/L odds for a show wager, we take what we can get.
