Best Horse Racing Bets for Tuesday, January 19, 2021

| January 18, 2021 1:48 pm PDT

Parx Racing was my favorite track for underdog prospects, while Delta Downs came through with more long-odds show tickets. The third track I chose to review for Tuesday — Mahoning Valley Race Course, gave us a single second-favored underdog and then… nothing.

Was it too much to ask for even one longshot with a chance at a money finish? Apparently so.

Ah, well, let’s dry our tears and move on to the summary of my horse racing picks and predictions for Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Good luck!

Delta Downs Picks for Tuesday

  • Race 2: Win: Kris T. 8/5
  • Race 2: Show: Yonna She Goes 10/1
  • Race 3: Win: All Our Time 9/5
  • Race 7: Win: Aloha Betty/Pretty Britches 9/5
  • Race 7: Show: Tenpin Tempo 12/1

Delta Downs was all about the morning line favorites, at least in the three races I reviewed. I just could not find a more likely winner in any of the three.

On the other hand, I found a couple of fair-to-middlin’ show-ticket moneymakers (races 2 and 7) that may not make us rich but could move us a rung up the success ladder.

Tuesday’s Predictions for Mahoning Valley Race Course

  • Race 1: Win: Most Sandisfactory 6/5
  • Race 3: Win: American Bourbon 2/1
  • Race 4: Win: C C My Sis 4/1

I found a second-favored entry in race 4 to tout, but otherwise, I stuck with the morning line’s advice. Unfortunately, I could find no worthy longer-odds entries for some value show wagers.

My Tuesday Picks and Predictions for Parx Racing

  • Race 6: Win: Mabel Island 7/2
  • Race 8: Win: Runningforhome 3/1
  • Race 8: Show: Pennsylvania Steel 15/1
  • Race 9: Win: Thundershook/Flat Out Beautiful 3/1

Parx was a bit stingy with the long-odds show bets, but I found underdog winners in all three of the races I reviewed for Tuesday.

Each of the three underdogs was a second-favored entry, including the coupled entry in race 9. The one show bet prospect I found was a 15/1 entry in race 8.
