Best Horse Racing Bets for Friday, January 15, 2021
I enjoyed reviewing Aqueduct Racetrack for my Friday racing predictions, but the other two tracks I assessed — Fair Grounds Race Course and Gulfstream Park — offered up their interesting surprises, as well.
Now, I tend to base my opinion of a track by the number and quality of value show bets I find — long-odds entries with a much better chance at a money finish than those long morning line odds suggest. So, ranking the three tracks according to that criterion, Fair Grounds was third, Gulfstream second, and Aqueduct my newest bestest buddy — for Friday, at least.
In any case, read on for the summary of my horse racing picks for Friday, January 15, 2021.
Aqueduct Racetrack Predictions for Friday
- Race 2: Flashndynamite 8/1 (win)
- Race 4: Commandandcontrol 2/1 (win)
- Race 4: My Delicious/Iaintfraidanoghost 10/1 (show)
- Race 7: Shotski 7/2 (win)
- Race 7: Acker 30/1 (show)
Aqueduct was my happy place for Friday because I found a fifth-favored underdog in race 2 and two long-odds moneymakers in races 4 and 7, respectively.
Sure, 10/1 aren’t the longest odds and hardly remunerative enough to be worth the effort, but on the other hand, the 30/1 longshot in race 7 should assuage our disappointment quite handily.

Friday’s Picks for Fair Grounds Race Course
- Race 5: Saintsgotrobbed 7/2 (win)
- Race 6: Mr. Al’s Gal 7/5 (win)
- Race 7: Sister Annie 9/2 (win)
Fair Ground Race Course was nowhere nearly as generous with the wagering options for Friday, offering no long-odds contenders worthy of a show-bet risk. Still, I found two underdogs, including a second-favored at 7/2 in race 5 and a third-favored prospect at a hearty 9/2 in race 7.

My Friday Predictions for Gulfstream Park
- Race 3: Nomizar 5/2 (win, if starts)
- Race 3: Bacchanalia 8/5 (win, otherwise)
- Race 6: Nocturnal 9/5 (win)
- Race 10: Take Charge Ro 4/1 (win)
- Race 10: Tizemotionalgold 20/1 (show)
Gulfstream Park was a mixture of the previous two tracks, with a smattering of underdogs and a solid 20/1 longshot contender to make our long-money happy.
Race three gave us the choice between the turf favorite and a second-favored also-eligible/MTO entry in race 3. I went with the morning line’s recommendation in race 6 but found a second-favored contender (at 4/1) to tout in race 10.
And who doesn’t like finding one of Tiznow’s own daughters running at 20/1?
