Best Horse Racing Bets for Friday, February 5, 2021

| February 4, 2021 4:08 pm PDT

I decided to go with Aqueduct Racetrack, Golden Gate Fields, and Tampa Bay Downs for my Friday tracks.

Frankly, I didn’t find as many underdogs as I’d hoped I would, but there were enough. And the value show bets were equally hard to find, although I did find an 8/1 sleeper at Tampa Bay Downs, so we’ve got that going for us. Which is nice.

Read on for the summary of my predictions for Friday, February 5, 2021, and don’t forget that beneath each summary is a link to the full review of each track’s top three races.

Good luck!

Friday’s Picks for Aqueduct Racetrack

  • Race 5: Gone Glimmering 7/2 (win)
  • Race 6: La Kara Mia 7/5 (win)
  • Race 7: Kaz’s Beach 5/2 (win)
  • Race 7: Possetizzly 15/1 (show)

In a schedule that presents us with plenty of short-field races, I found three matches with potential. Aqueduct delivered a couple of second-favored underdogs (race 5 and 7) as well as a 15/1 value show bet for race 7. The only morning-line favorite I backed was in race 6, and in that particular case, La Kara Mia was the obvious choice.

Picks and Predictions for Friday at Golden Gate Fields

  • Race 2: Bourbonwithatwist 7/2 (win)
  • Race 3: Tribal Nation 2/1 (win)
  • Race 4: Ixtapa’s Finest 9/2 (win)
  • Race 4: Tip Top Gal 10/1 (show)

I had to dig deeper to find winners for the three Golden Gate Fields races I reviewed for Friday. But find them I did, including a third-favored (at 7/2) entry in race 2 and a fourth-favored (at 9/2) horse in race 4.

I also found a good value show wager in race 4 at 10/1. I know that’s about the shortest I go for a value show ticket, but in this case, it’s warranted.

My Friday Picks for Tampa Bay Downs

  • Race 1: Hightime Valentine 2/1 (win)
  • Race 1: Peaceful Way 8/1 (sleeper)
  • Race 2: Highly Noted 4/1 (win)
  • Race 9: Dovima 3/1 (win, if starts)
  • Race 9: Dinn Righ 5/2 (win, otherwise)

Tampa Bay Downs had the best selection of surprises for us for Friday. In the three matches I reviewed, I found just one underdog (the third-favored at 4/1 in race 2).

While I backed the morning line favorites in both race 1 and race 9, that is somewhat deceptive. In race 1, I also found a sleeper at 8/1 that is worth at least a show bet but probably a good across the board wager.

And in race 9, there’s one of those popular if-then turf vs. main track choices to be made.
