Best Horse Racing Bets for Wednesday, February 3, 2021

I chose Fair Grounds Race Course, Gulfstream Park, and Tampa Bay Downs for review for Wednesday, and while the pickings for value show wagers were slim, I found plenty of underdogs to tout at all three tracks.

Fair Grounds Race Course had a couple of profit opportunities for us to explore, including a second-favored underdog in race 7, and even better, a 12/1 likely money finish in race 8. Other than those, we had some longer-than-usual odds for the morning line favorite in race 8 and an obvious win for the 9/5 favorite in race 6.

Gulfstream Park really came through for us, with a third-favored pick in race 4 and a fourth-favored sleeper in race 8. I had to agree with the morning line in race 9, but I found a solid 20/1 longshot for a money finish in race 8, as well as a 12/1 value show bet in race 9. Not great, but not bad at all. For a Wednesday, anyway.

Tampa Bay Downs had a couple of underdogs for me to tout, including the second-favored entry in race 5 and the third-favored (at 4/1) horse in race 7. Speaking of race 7, if you’re a regular reader of my predictions, you’ll note that I was way off with my touting of a win from Morgan’s Z Va a couple of weeks ago, but stats don’t lie, even when they don’t predict with 100% accuracy.

Unfortunately, the tracks I reviewed were all (with the notable exception of Gulfstream Park) very withholding on value show prospects, so with Tampa Bay Downs, all we have are the underdogs.
