Best Horse Racing Bets for Saturday, February 20, 2021

Fair Grounds Race Course, Gulfstream Park, and Santa Anita Park were my choices of tracks to review for my picks in Saturday’s bouts of thoroughbred racing. Two of the tracks headline stakes races — there’s the Grade III Royal Delta Stakes at Gulfstream and the Grade II Buena Vista Stakes at Santa Anita.

There’s plenty to cover, so let’s move on to the summary of my racing picks for the top three races at each of those three tracks on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Fair Grounds may have been short on value show bets, but the track came through with underdogs. I discovered second-favored underdogs in races 8 and 10, agreeing with the morning line only in race 6.

Gulfstream Park, on the other hand, yielded two solids value show bets — both at 15/1 morning line odds.

And I found a couple of underdogs to tout (races 10 and 11), with the third-favored entries (turf entry and also-eligible/MTO entry) in race 10.

In race 11 — also known as the Royal Delta Stakes (Grade III) — I found that I liked Eres Tu best, the second-favored entry.

Santa Anita came through on both underdogs and value show bets for us on Saturday. There’s a 15/1 show ticket in race 9 and a 20/1 longshot worth a show bet in the Grade II Buena Vista Stakes (race 7).

I did agree with the morning line on the probable winner for race 6, but I picked the third-favored entry to win in the Buena Vista Stakes and the second-favored entry in race 9.
