Best Horse Racing Bets for Wednesday, February 10, 2021

I decided to change things up a bit for Wednesday’s tracks, so I added Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona, along with two of my long-time favorites — Gulfstream Park and Mahoning Valley Race Course.

Turf Paradise offers us a good look at plenty of good jockeys who don’t get the acclamation their eastern and southern cousins enjoy but should. Not to mention thoroughbreds we should be hearing more about but don’t.

My Turf Paradise picks are deceptively bland. I went with the second-favored (3/1) underdog in race 1 and the fourth-favored (5/1) in race 3, only deferring to the morning line in race 5.

Incidentally, this is my first review of the Phoenix, Arizona track, but judging by the fields in all nine of its races for Wednesday, I expect some profitable — albeit surprising — picks in the future.

Gulfstream Park’s races for Wednesday were the other side of the coin, with mostly morning-line favorites to tout (races 6 and 8) and a second-favored entry in race 9 to cheer on.

On the other hand, I found two 15/1 show wagers (races 8 and 9) that should make our bankrolls happy and fatter, or at least fatter.

Mahoning was a good blend of underdogs and potentially profitable show bets. While I backed the morning line favorite in race 1, I went with the second-favored entry in race 2 (at 3/1) and the third-favored (7/2) in race 3.

Plus, there are those two fair-to-middlin’ 10/1 show tickets in races 1 and 2. Those, along with the underdogs, make Mahoning Valley my favorite track of the day.
