Best Esports Bets for Wednesday, September 2, 2020

| September 2, 2020 1:42 am PDT

The esports scene is currently packed with elite tournaments, so if you’re still not betting on your favorite games online, you’re missing out on a lot of value!

The exact purpose of my top esports picks for Wednesday is to highlight the matchups that present the best opportunities by looking at the current prices and sharing an overview of the teams involved in the action.

I start off with a big CS:GO derby but be sure to stay until the end as I have lined up four more predictions and information on some of the top esports betting sites out there!

Vitality (-1.5) vs. NiP

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL Pro League Season 12: Europe
  • Starting time: 08:30 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: +160

Vitality and Ninjas in Pyjamas go head-to-head again in the opening fixture of Group B at the ESL Pro League Season 12.

The Ninjas had a great run-in since returning to action but it was Vitality that ended their ESL One: Cologne campaign and I feel the Frenchmen will have the edge once again.

ZywOo is the perfect player to counter NiP’s tactics that got them through to the semi-finals of the last tournament and the way Vitality handles their utility always gives them a great advantage in these matchups.

The odds for a 2:0 win for the favorites look quite high to me so that would be my pick here.

And if you’re interested to know more about the reasoning behind this prediction, you can check out this full Vitality vs. NiP betting preview for September 2nd. vs. Alliance Over 2.5

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division
  • Starting time: 11:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: +119

For my first Dota 2 pick of the day, I’m going for the Over 2.5 market for the clash between and Alliance.

Both teams have had their fair share of ups and downs at the tournament so far and I don’t expect any of them will be dominating the match.

At their best, they can put up a fight against any squad but they have recently made a lot of strange draft decisions and their usual level of execution has been found lacking.

Such ties usually get settled in a decisive third round, so the odds of +119 carry superb value.

My colleague Jerry Summer has prepared a vs. Alliance betting pick post that shares more insight into the teams’ recent form and why a three-round matchup makes perfect sense here.

FaZe (-1.5) vs. mousesports

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL Pro League Season 12: Europe
  • Starting time: 12:00 Noon Pacific Time
  • Odds: +126

The ESL Pro League schedule in the European bracket brings us an interesting tie between the new-look rosters of FaZe Clan and mousesports.

NiKo’s FaZe team is understandably the huge favorite as their opponents have been in a downward spiral for quite some time now.

The recent addition of Bymas is bound to excite mousesports fans as the Lithuanian is clearly a talented player but they will need much more than to return to the top.

On the flip side, the addition of Kjaerbye by FaZe has already yielded some positive results and it is a matter of time before he gets settled and starts producing the displays that made him one of the most sought-after players on the Danish CS:GO scene.

It will probably get a bit worse for The MouZ before it gets better and this ambitious FaZe team can take full advantage of that here.

The odds of +126 look like a great deal with all things considered and if you want more details on the teams and this prediction, you can check out my FaZe vs. mousesports betting pick post.

More Esports Betting Tips for Wednesday, September 2nd

And now for the rest of my best esports predictions for today:

  • FURIA vs. Cloud9 Over 2.5; +127
  • Thunder Predator vs. Beastcoast Over 2.5; +109

CS:GO outfits FURIA and Cloud9 will lock horns for the first time since the season restart as they embark on their ESL Pro League Season 12 journey.

Captain arT’s team is once again the betting sites’ favorite but the Cloud did manage to edge them in the last encounter and despite several disappointing performances at the most recent tournaments, the Americans remain a threat when the pressure is not on them to deliver.

Their Brazilian opponents possess far more quality but they are prone to the odd shaky performance in opening fixtures as was evidenced by losing their maps picks against lower-ranked 100 Thieves and Chaos in recent outings.

Given the circumstances and the price of +127 for a three-round game, I feel this is the perfect opportunity to bank on some high odds.

Thunder Predator and Beastcoast are going head-to-head with the winner advancing to the Lower Bracket Final in the American division of the Dota 2 OMEGA League.

TP has a slight advantage in the head-to-head department but there have been so uncharacteristic mistakes from them in this tournament so I fail to see how they will dominate this tie.

Beastcoast put up a good fight against top favorites Quincy Crew and will feel confident coming into this tie after beating the Thunder in the last two meetings between them.

Given TP’s wobbly form and the fact that Beastcoast still lacks the experience and quality to dominate these ties even if they make the right dating calls, I’m most inclined to back another three-round game between these two.

Everything over the price of +100 gives you great value, so it’s a no-brainer for me to go for the Over 2.5 market at +109.

This concludes my post on the top esports bets for September 2nd but be sure to tune in again for another edition of my daily series.
