Best Esports Bets for Thursday, August 27, 2020

| August 27, 2020 12:54 am PDT

Another day, another chance to bank on some attractive odds from the top esports tournaments!

The scene is jam-packed with elite events right now and the purpose of my best esports bets post is to find where the betting value is by looking at the latest odds and sharing my analysis of the teams involved in the action.

I kick things off with three separate CS:GO predictions and then move on to a couple of crunch ties at the top ongoing League of Legends and Dota 2 competitions.

Complexity vs. Heroic Over 2.5

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One: Cologne 2020 Summer – Europe
  • Starting time: 06:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: -112

Complexity and Heroic will have a chance to settle the score as they lock horns in the early quarter-final of the European division at the ESL One: Cologne event.

The Danes prevailed the last time around as they managed to outlast blameF and his teammates and clinch a spot in the Grand Final of the 2020 DreamHack Open.

Since then, both organizations have been doing quite well.

The Complexity boys completely blew away MAD Lions and Natus Vincere in their opening ESL One: Cologne fixtures, while Heroic made their way to the playoffs after dominant wins against FaZe and fnatic.

These two are among the best CS:GO squads on current form and they are both making very positive strides in the last couple of months.

This should be another close encounter between them and I’m reluctant to pick out a winner but expect they will push this into a decisive third-round again.

The odds of -112 make for a great deal given the circumstances and it’s hard to pass on them, so that’s where my money is going.

Vitality (-1.5) vs. Sprout

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One: Cologne 2020 Summer – Europe
  • Starting time: 09:30 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: +100

Surprise package Sprout will go head-to-head against Team Vitality in one of the ESL One: Cologne quarter-finals.

Despite the Germans’ amazing run at the tournament so far, I’m backing the Frenchmen to come away with a comfortable win.

They looked close to their top form against FaZe in the last round and winning the tie on two maps was the perfect response after the disappointment they endured against Astralis in the Upper Bracket.

Sprout won’t simply lie down but this Vitality team has the resources to counter both dycha and faveN, who have been instrumental so far.

I’m expecting another top performance from ZywOo, shox, and RpK and if you want more details on the teams’ current form and why I think the +100 odds for the favorites to get a clean sweep are the best option, you can check out my Sprout vs. Vitality free betting pick post.

Team Liquid (-1.5) vs. Chaos

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: ESL One: Cologne 2020 Summer – North America
  • Starting time: 13:00 PM Pacific Time
  • Odds: +103

After eliminating Cloud9, Team Liquid goes again at the ESL One: Cologne event and they face a very familiar opponent in the semi-final.

Chaos’ return to competitive action has yielded some great results but they still find it hard to unlock Liquid even with the amazing form players Xeppaa and leaf are currently in.

Coach Moses is slowly but steadily building a great foundation for this Liquid team and despite they still have their wobbly moments, they are looking very confident and in Twistzz, EliGE, Stewie2K, and Grim they possess firepower that can be matched by very few teams.

History is on the side of Liquid and I expect a controlled performance from them here which should see them wrap up another clean sweep.

If you feel you need more convincing before placing this bet, you can check out my exclusive Team Liquid vs. Chaos betting preview where I explain in detail why the handicap for the favorites makes perfect sense.

More Esports Betting Tips for Thursday, August 27th

  • LDLC to win vs. K1CK Neosurf; -189
  • Evil Geniuses vs. Alliance Over 2.5; +109

Now for the remaining two picks.

French League of Legends organization LDLC finds itself in trouble at the 2020 European Masters tournament after failing to win any of their two opening games.

This puts them in a very tough situation but they still have enough chances to progress to the playoffs.

However, they will need to start now, and facing K1CK Neosurf gives them a great opportunity to turn the tide.

They completely destroyed their opponents the last time they met and still possess far superior quality on the draft and execution despite their recent disappointments.

The Frenchmen will be fired up to make amends here against a team that hasn’t been able to counter them in the past and that makes the -189 for an LDLC win quite attractive.

And with my final pick, I’m going for a three-round matchup between Dota 2 forces Evil Geniuses and Alliance at the OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division.

The Alliance boys have their backs against the wall and they usually come up with the goods in these situations.

EG has been in fine form and it won’t be an easy task to topple them but their loss against Natus Vincere shows they are not invincible.

Both teams will give it a good go here and it’s only logical to expect a tight matchup, so the odds of +109 for the Over 2.5 market are more than generous.

Feel free to explore this Evil Geniuses vs. Alliance betting pick post if you want to know more about the reasoning behind this prediction.

That’s it for my top esports picks for Thursday. Let’s hope we can win some cash and be sure to tune in again tomorrow for another edition of the series.
