Best Esports Bets for Monday, August 31, 2020

| August 31, 2020 12:41 am PDT

There are several ongoing tournaments on the competitive esports scene and in this post, I focus on the top CS:GO, Dota 2, and League of Legends bouts of the day.

Some crunch playoff ties are scheduled to take place and the purpose of my top esports predictions for Monday is to share where the top prices and which are the best markets to target.

There is some great value to be had so let’s not delay further and kick things off with a Dota 2 derby and then proceed with four more picks.

Cyber Legacy to Win vs. NiP

  • Game: Dota 2
  • Tournament: OMEGA League: Europe Divine Division
  • Starting time: 08:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: -141

Cyber Legacy has been laying waste to every opponent in the Divine Division of the OMEGA League and is deservedly the favorite against the struggling Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Missing out on qualification for the Immortal Division has spurred the Russian team and they will surely be fired up once again versus a team that has been relegated from the elite echelon.

NiP’s poor form saw them fall heavily to FlyToMoon in their last outing and their one-dimensional drafting and woeful execution should make them easy prey for the red-hot Cyber Legacy team.

More details on this prediction and the teams’ recent form are available over at our full Cyber Legacy vs. NiP betting pick post.

Movistar Riders (-2.5) vs. Cream Real Betis

  • Game: LoL
  • Tournament: LVP SuperLiga Orange Season 19
  • Starting time: 09:00 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: +117

Spanish League of Legends teams Movistar Riders and Cream Real Betis will be going head-to-head in the first semi-final of the LVP Superliga tournament.

CRB was able to clinch a Best of 1 format game in the group stages against the Riders but the favorites have since improved tremendously and will have a huge advantage in the lengthier playoff bouts.

They have won four of their last time outings, beating some of the most solid teams at the tournament and will be confident right from the start here.

Given that Real Betis rarely make it to such advanced stages, I expect they will feel the pressure against the more experienced Movistar team and this can make things quite comfortable for the Riders.

The odds of +117 for a clean sweep make for a great value bet here and that would be my final betting pick.

Winstrike (-1.5) vs. BIG Academy

  • Game: CS:GO
  • Tournament: Counter-Strike GO: Legend Series
  • Starting time: 10:30 AM Pacific Time
  • Odds: -117

CIS organization Winstrike takes on BIG’s youth roster and is coming into the tie as a heavy favorite.

Led by Lack1 and bondik, the team has racked up some terrific results at this level, beating solid squads AGO and FATE and snatching a map in bouts against higher-ranked teams such as c0ntact and Espada.

BIG Academy had some decent displays at the Malta Vibes cup tournament but have since run out of steam and they are currently sitting on a four-game losing streak with some heavy losses against the likes of Izako Boars and Copenhagen Flames in there.

The team has ample quality with Krimbo, PANIX, and Prosus on the roster but they lack an edge in these encounters and regularly falter in the decisive moments due to their inexperience.

I’m expecting Winstrike to control proceedings throughout the series and come away with a comfortable win.

The -117 price for the handicap looks great given the circumstances, so that’s what I’m going with here.

More Esports Betting Tips for Monday, August 31st

And now for the rest of my top esports picks for today:

  • Heretics (-1.5) vs. Queso; -223
  • Quincy Crew (-1.5) vs. Beastcoast; -185

Before I get to the reasoning behind these predictions, I want to turn your attention to our list of recommended sportsbooks.

Profiting from esports wagers online can be a hard task as your knowledge of the teams and tournaments alone is not enough to succeed.

You also need to find the most competitive prices, attractive bonuses, and the market selections that can really give your strategy the needed flexibility.

Not all of the betting sites out there can provide you with quality service on these fronts and since we know how tough it is to sift through all the platforms out there, our team of experts is working constantly on coming up with the best suggestions.

Simply check out the betting sites below which have all been thoroughly vetted and can offer you a safe and diverse betting experience:

Going back to my predictions, I have Team Heretics to sweep Queso in the early semi-final of the ongoing Legend Series CS:GO event.

This is probably the biggest mismatch you will find with Queso sitting outside the Top 200 bracket in the world rankings, while Heretics has recently played against some of the elite European teams and even won a map against top dogs Fnatic at the ESL One: Cologne event.

You won’t find very high odds for a 2:0 win for the favorites but even at -223, you have yourself quite a deal.

And I wrap up my best esports bets for August 31st with a Dota 2 tie in the American Division of the OMEGA League.

Quincy Crew will face old foes Beastcoast in what promises to be a very one-sided affair.

QC strolled to the top of Group A by winning all of their four matchups while losing just one round in the process.

They swept BC with ease in their last two meetings and usually pick up the pace even more when the playoffs come around.

It should be a comfortable outing for them again and the -185 odds for the handicap make this one of the best value bets you can place.
