Odds and Picks for the Best Davis vs. Santa Cruz Props

| October 30, 2020 8:17 am PDT

It’s almost fight night, which means it’s time to take a look at the best prop bets for Gervonta Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz ahead of Saturday’s bout in Texas.

It sounds a little nerdy, but I’m always stoked to see props released for fights like this. The best boxing betting apps usually have a wide range of markets to get on, and if you can find what you’re looking for, it could make a big difference.

I’m looking forward to running through what I’ve found with you today. From betting on Tank by stoppage to big odds for Leo to win, join me as I break down the best Davis vs. Santa Cruz prop bets.

Davis to Win by KO/TKO/DQ

  • Odds of -115 available at Bovada

If you’re betting on Davis vs. Santa Cruz, this is my first recommended wager for the fight.

Davis will likely be too big and too powerful for Santa Cruz. Tank has a ridiculous knockout count on his record, with 22 from 23 fights. The only time he has been to the judges’ scorecards was in a six-rounder early in his career.

At odds of -115, it’s not the most lucrative prop bet for Davis vs. Santa Cruz. But given the American is -700 with most boxing sportsbooks to win on the moneyline, it’s a no-brainer to choose this bet instead.

Santa Cruz to Win on Points

  • Odds of +600 available at MyBookie

Thinking of betting Santa Cruz to beat Davis? You can get +600 with MyBookie for him to win on points.

An excellent technical boxer, Santa Cruz has only been beaten once in his career. That was against Carl Frampton in 2016. The Mexican avenged that loss in 2017.

While Tank has the power and the speed to cause Santa Cruz big problems, if you back the latter, it makes sense to take him by decision.

Davis to Win in Round 7

  • Odds of +1200 available at BetOnline

Brave enough to pick the round where Davis stops Santa Cruz?

If so, odds of +1200 aren’t bad at all. I expect the American to have put in a lot of work at this point in the fight and will be expecting to get the finish around the early third quarter of the fight.

As far back as my early prediction for Davis vs. Santa Cruz, I have backed the American to get the job done by stoppage. But will it be done in Round 7?

Fight to End Rounds 7 to 9

  • Odds of +400 available Bovada

Of course, you can always play it safer and pick the fight to end between the 7th and 9th.

Odds of +400 are tasty, and I expect that Santa Cruz’s toughness and craftiness could take him as far as the 9th, especially if Davis has had a tough weight cut.

If you are less confident in pin-pointing the round, consider this bet.

Santa Cruz Wins an Uneven Number of Rounds

  • Odds of +2500 available at Betway

And finally, a bet that pays out at odds of +2500.

What you need to do to win this bet is hope that Santa Cruz wins an uneven number of rounds in the fight. So, if he picks up 1, 3, 5 rounds, etc., you win your bet.

I think Santa Cruz will be competitive at the start of the fight, and could very well win the first round. Will that be enough?
