Best College Football Bets for November 14, 2020

Should we just bet it all on Arkansas?

Rather than dig to uncover the best bets for college football this week, maybe we should just fire in a massive bet on the Razorbacks and call it a day. Not only is Arkansas 6-0 against the spread in 2020, but the Hogs have been covering with lots of room to spare (ATS +/- of 10.8 ppg).

However, traveling to Gainesville without head coach Sam Pittman has me a bit wary of pulling the trigger.

So what are the best college football bets for Saturday?

Ohio State Buckeyes (-24.5) -110

Maryland is riding all sorts of momentum after upsetting Penn State last weekend at Beaver Stadium. Unfortunately for Taulia Tagovailoa and his teammates, these positive vibes are likely to be very short-lived.

The Terps are yielding 35.3 points and 474 yards per game. They rank 98th in the FBS in third-down conversion % on defense. Consider these are their defensive stats against suspect offenses.

Facing an absolutely loaded Buckeyes offense on Saturday, things could get out of hand quickly.

For crying out loud, Fields has as many passing touchdowns (11) as he does incompletions! With the spread ballooning to 25 at most of the top college football betting sites, Bovada is letting us in at 24.5.

Utah Utes (-3) -115

Utah’s 2020 season gets underway on Saturday after having their opener against Arizona postponed. While we’re still waiting to see what Kyle Whittingham’s group looks like after losing so many integral pieces to his squad, we know what Chip Kelly’s bunch is about.

And boy is it troubling.

The Bruins were a 6.5-point favorite at home versus the Buffaloes last week and found themselves trailing by 28 points before they could even blink. UCLA’s offense is still inefficient, and the defense is nothing short of appalling.

Whether Coach Whittingham goes with South Carolina transfer Jake Bentley or Texas transfer Cam Rising – or even former walk-on Drew Lisk, all three quarterbacks on Utah’s depth chart are more than capable of leading the Utes past the Bruins.

Pencil this in as one of college football’s best bets this week.

Northwestern vs. Purdue (Under 51) -110

Here’s one of the best college football games to watch on Saturday that also happens to be one of the best NCAAF bets of the weekend. With the total lurking at 50.5 at nearly all of the sportsbooks, is offering extra incentive to back the under.

Northwestern prides itself on running the football and playing hard-nosed defense. Hence, the Wildcats allow just 12.0 points and average just 170.3 passing yards per game.

The Boilermakers (2-0) have surrendered just 22.0 points/per game and have been extra-sturdy on third down (opponents converting just 31% of the time).

With bragging rights in the Big Ten West firmly on the line, look for both defenses to be ultra-motivated at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Instead of choosing between who covers the spread, hang your hat on fewer than 51 points being scored.
