Sleeper Picks for the 2020 Bermuda Championship – 4 Under-the-Radar Names

| October 26, 2020 1:32 pm PDT

Last week’s field was stacked. And although Cameron Smith played well as a +8000 long shot, perhaps overcoming the top dogs was too tall of an ask.

Turning the page to “The Devil’s Islands” – this is the time to zero in on some dark horses. Just one player ranked inside the top 50 (Brendon Todd) is here and the golf course is ripe for the picking.

I’ll now introduce four Bermuda Championship sleepers – all capable of giving you a sweat on Sunday.

Tom Lewis +5000

It’s been tough sledding for Tom Lewis over the last couple of months, but is the tide about to turn?

Last time out at the Shriners, Lewis was 14-under-par (15 birdies and one bogey) through three rounds and looking sharp in the process.  A poor Sunday sent him tumbling down the leaderboard, but Tom led the field in scrambling and gained strokes off the tee during all four rounds.

It could very well all come together at Port Royal Golf Course.

Wyndham Clark +8000

Speaking of a sleeper pick for the Bermuda Championship who played well during the first three days at TPC Summerlin, enter Wyndham Clark.

The University of Oregon product glistened with rounds of 67-63-65 in Sin City before a Sunday 72 dropped him back into a tie for 13th.

Those of you hoping to target a bomber who can roll his rock, look no further than this man. Last season Clark clocked in 9th in one-putt % (16th in SG: Putting) and 32nd in driving distance.

Wesley Bryan +9000

Backing Bryan for a top-20 finish is highlighted as one of my Bermuda Championship predictions to bet on. Nevertheless, Wesley’s handsome +9000 price tag at MyBookie has me itching to double down.

The 2017 RBC Heritage winner endured a couple of injury-plagued seasons following his victory in Hilton Head, but the 30-year-old trick-shot specialist is finally healthy. And it’s not just Wesley’s health that’s on the mend – his golf game is too. A strong finish to the 2019-20 campaign propelled Bryan to a 12th-place finish in his most recent start (Sanderson Farms Championship).

Consistently among the best putters on tour, the sub-6,900-yard layout at Port Royal Golf Course should suit his strengths famously.

Beau Hossler +9000

+8000 for Hossler to win was intriguing – until I spotted him at +9000 at XBet. The case for Beau as one of the top Bermuda Championship sleeper picks is easy once you study the way his game has been trending.

The former standout in Austin has played the weekend in each of his four 2020-21 starts and owns a raw scoring average of 69.56. He’s making nearly five birdies per round and ranks 7th in total driving efficiency.

And while Beau hasn’t visited winner’s circle on the PGA Tour before, he’s been oh-so-close.

Locking in these Bermuda Championship sleepers is one way of seeking a hefty payday on Sunday. Another is playing DFS golf on DraftKings – specifically the big GPPs.
