The Italian Serie A continues with Matchday 5, bringing plenty of exciting matchups to the bettors over the weekend. Sunday’s slate is full of interesting markets, so here’s my best Benevento vs. Napoli betting pick along with the latest odds update.

The hosts are off to a nice start after returning to Serie A last summer and will try to pull off a huge upset when they welcome Napoli at Stadio Ciro Vigorito. However, the visitors are fired up to finally win the title this season, so I expect to see a great game Sunday in Benevento.

Benevento vs. Napoli Odds

Benevento +1.5+100
Napoli -1.5-110
Benevento to Win+600
Napoli to Win-270
Over 3.5+100
Under 3.5-125

Napoli is one of the best Italian teams for years, but the Blues haven’t won the championship since 1990. On the other side, the Sorcerers are playing their second Serie A season in club history.

I’m not surprised by the odds, as Napoli is a far better team than Benevento and shouldn’t have any problems winning all three points Sunday.

Both teams have been efficient thus far, so the bookmakers expect to see a high-scoring affair.

Benevento vs. Napoli Preview

Benevento has recorded a couple of wins and losses through the first four rounds of the 2020-21 Serie A season. The Sorcerers are sitting at the 10th spot of the standings with six points and an 8:12 goal difference.

They Bologna 1-0 at home and Sampdoria 3-2 on the road, while both losses came against heavyweights, as Benevento was smashed by Inter 5-2 at home and AR Roma 5-2 on the road.

Last weekend, the Sorcerers had a 1-0 lead at AS Roma, but their defense collapsed in the second half, allowing three goals in the final 20 minutes.

Striker Gianluca Caprari leads the way for Benevento with three goals and one assist in four outings. The Sorcerers are without forward Gabriele Moncini and centre-back Federico Barba due to injuries, while all other guys are ready to go.

On the other side, Napoli could miss midfielders Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas due to the COVID-19. Still, the Blues have enough quality players to overcome their eventual absence.

Napoli is laying at the fourth spot of the Serie A standings with eight points and a 12:4 goal difference. The Blues thrashed off Atalanta 4-1 at home last weekend, but they are coming off a disappointing 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League this past Thursday.

Striker Hirving Lozano scored four goals in four appearances for the Blues, while forwards Matteo Politano and Dries Mertens added a pair of goals each. Mertens is the team’s best assist-maker with three dishes in four outings.

Benevento vs. Napoli Pick

The Blues played very well against Atalanta in the previous round of the Italian Serie A, and I expect them to continue with a strong performance. Also, they should be fired up to make amends for a big disappointment in the opening clash of the UEFA Europa League.

Napoli prefers to push forward in numbers, and I think Benevento’s defense is not up to the task. The Sorcerers allowed five goals to AS Roma and Inter each, so they obviously struggle against good attacking teams.

Two years ago, Napoli beat Benevento in both of their Serie A encounters. The Blues dismantled the Sorcerers 6-0 at home while earning a 2-0 victory at Stadio Ciro Vigorito.

Napoli has dropped four of its previous five road contests, so this is a great opportunity for the Blues to improve their record.
