The NFL season opener is entertaining, and the excitement to see football played at So-Fi Stadium is off the charts.

Los Angeles has Super Bowl aspirations, and the start of their season will be a key to their success. Chicago has a pair of quarterbacks that should see plenty of snaps this season.

Andy Dalton and his ability to take care of the football and connect on positive plays will be vital. Sadly, fans are already losing patience. Justin Fields is the future, and he will certainly get an opportunity at some point in the season.

The Rams and Bears have had stellar defenses over the years, but the debut of Matthew Stafford could perhaps get them over the hump.

Let’s discuss this Sunday night matchup with the latest odds, predictions, and picks between the Bears and Rams.

Bears vs. Rams Odds

Bears (+9)-125
Rams (-9)+105
Bears to Win+280
Rams to Win-400
Over 46.5-115
Under 46.5-105

The Rams enter as sizable home favorites at the best sites for betting on the NFL.

The Bears are 2-8 straight up in their last ten road games in which they are underdogs of at least nine points. That goes back to 2009, but they are better against the spread at 4-6.

Still, that is not the confidence you need to take action against the Bears.

The Rams are 7-3 outright in the last ten when favored by 9-plus points, and they are 5-5 record against the spread.

In games with a spread of nine points on the dot, the Rams are one for the last five against the spread and 2-3 outright.

The Bears are a live underdog, but a big one at that. Here is your Sunday night primetime analysis, prediction, and pick between the Bears and Rams.

Why the Bears Win

Andy Dalton has enough offensive skill players and pieces around him to get the job done against the Rams.

It won’t be a walk in the park by any means, and many are afraid Dalton will get dismantled, but the talent at running back and wide receiver are solid.

Allen Robinson is one of the dozen best receivers in the league, and he could line up anywhere on the field.

A-Rob is in a contract season and should post another 90-plus reception year to go along with his usual seven scores and over 1,000 receiving yards. Darnell Mooney posted a solid rookie campaign, and he should be a reliable passing option for Dalton and potentially Fields shortly.

David Montgomery and the ground game against the Rams will be pivotal in this matchup. If Chicago can get anything going at the line of scrimmage, they will pull this upset off.

The Bears are 9-11 against Matthew Stafford. Allowing 32 passing scores, but picking him off 23 times are solid defensive numbers. They can have a real shot to win this if their defense can turn him over a few times.

Why the Rams Win

Matthew Stafford has not won a playoff game in his career (0-3), and the relationship with head coach Sean McVay will be one of the most popular talking points this season.

That said, he’s ready to put all of the losing behind him.

It just might start in week one against the Bears.

Stafford could be the missing piece for the franchise despite getting close with Jared Goff under center. Superstars such as Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Todd Gurley have been great enough to overcome their shortcomings at quarterback.

Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Higbee are among the top receiving trios. Stafford has an elite arm and will be able to move the chains quite frequently this season. The big-play threats are available with Van Jefferson and DeSean Jackson, so the cupboard is far from bare.

Throw in difference-makers, Darnold and Ramsey, on the defensive side of the ball and the talent adds up. Now you understand why the Rams are among the favorites to win it all.

Bears vs. Rams Prediction

The Bears and Rams are going to be a fun Sunday night clash due to their talented defenses. Khalil Mack is still a stud, and he could harass Stafford if he doesn’t get the ball out quickly.

The best chance of Chicago winning this one is getting after and pinning their ears back against Stafford in the pocket. Force him into a few quick decisions and turn him over. If the secondary consistently covers Woods and Kupp on an island, trouble will loom.

I smell a backdoor cover potentially with Dalton, but the Rams should be winning most of the night by double-digits.

Bears vs. Rams Pick

The opening line of this game was at a touchdown, and some even had it below that number.

The Rams are going to be challenging to beat at home. So-Fi Stadium will be an electric atmosphere, and the value on the Rams is still too easy not to take.

There could be some lack of scoring in this one, but I would stay away from the point total. The Rams and their money line are respectable.

Los Angeles won’t be losing in their brand-new stadium debut, so lay the juice with the Rams and buy a point or two if you can.

For those that hammered the Rams several days ago and were able to get it at seven points or fewer, props to you.
