Matchday 3 of the 2020-21 German Bundesliga season will close down Sunday, October 4, with the Bayern Munich vs. Hertha Berlin showdown at Allianz Arena in Munich.

The Bavarians entered the new season as the reigning German and European champs, but they were humiliated at Hoffenheim in the previous round of the Bundesliga. 

It would be interesting to see their reaction this weekend against the Old Lady from the capital, so I’m bringing you the best Bayern vs. Hertha betting pick and tips.

The Bavarians are often listed as massive favorites at Allianz Arena, and Sunday’s clash against Hertha is no different. If you want to back the hosts and still get some reasonable odds, you’ll have to take Bayern to cover.

The bookies expect the Bavarians to dominate the Old Lady and score a few goals along the way.

On the other side, Hertha opened the new Bundesliga season with an excellent 4-1 road victory over Werder Bremen. Four different guys scored for Hertha including striker Jhon Cordoba who arrived from FC Koln in the offseason.

However, the Old Lady was helpless in the previous round, losing to Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 at home. It was quite a poor performance, and Hertha found the net thanks to Martin Hinteregger’s own goal.

Under Hans-Dieter Flick, the Bavarians are working like a well-oiled machine. They have some slight problems at the back, but that 4-1 defeat at Hoffenheim was an anomaly. The Bavarians just had to have one bad day in the office after months of pure domination.

Therefore, I expect the Bavarians to restore their dominance Sunday and beat Hertha by three or more goals.

Let’s make this clear. It’s never easy to beat someone by a three-goal margin, but at +114 odds, this one’s worth a shot. Finally, you’re backing the best team in Europa, and probably in the world, to thrash off Hertha at home.

The visitors will park the bus at Allianz Arena, for sure. They will defend for all 90 minutes, looking for some chances through counter-attacks, but the hosts have so many dangerous weapons that I would be surprised if they score less than three goals.

Robert Lewandowski netted just once this season, so look after him if you like to bet on player props. Last season, Hertha pulled off a huge upset at Allianz Arena, earning a 2-2 draw, while Lewandowski scored a brace for Bayern.
