Barcelona vs. Real Betis – La Liga, November 7, 2020

Although they are playing well in the Champions League, where they recorded all three victories, the roses are not red for Barcelona in LaLiga, Namely, Blaugrana is without a league win in the last four matches. Still, they managed to snap a two-losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Alaves, which is another disappointing result. Barca is in the low 12th position with just eight points from six games.

Real Betis, on the other hand, is playing in a hot and cold form so far in the season as they won four and lost four matches. After suffering a couple of defeats to Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid without scoring a goal along the way, Betis returned to the winning ways with a 3-1 home victory over Elche. Los Verdiblancos now improved to 12 points and are in 7th place.

This is my Barcelona vs. Real Betis betting pick and check out the latest news, stats, and H2H record.

Barcelona Team News and Stats

Amid their worst start to a season since 2002/03 (also eight points in six matches) when another Dutchman Louis van Gaal was manager, Barcelona is hoping to avoid a first streak of three home league matches without a win since Nov/Dec 2003. They still lost only four of their 79 LaLiga games at Camp Nou since the start of 2016/17, with all four of those losses seeing them allow first in one-goal difference affairs with both teams scoring.

A 4-3 H2H defeat in November 2018 is amongst those four losses, and the key to that was allowing early in the game, with Barcelona going into halftime with 2-0 behind. In fact, none of the previous seven LaLiga H2H encounters witnessed a first-half loser claw back any points.

Ronald Koeman will be without Philippe Coutinho (muscle), Samuel Umtiti (knee), and Ronald Araujo (thigh).

Real Betis Team News and Stats

Despite two road LaLiga victories this term, as part of an overall W4, L4 record, Betis lost 21 (58.33%) of their last 36 away league matches since that famous 4-3 H2H upset at Camp Nou (W7, D8, L21). A 57.14% majority (12) of those losses saw them lose the opening half, while they have lost nine (D1) of the previous ten LaLiga games away from home in which they allowed the opening goal.

The visitors’ last won an away league match involving them allowing first back in Dec 2018. Even so, this matchup offers unpredictability, as the previous five LaLiga H2H duels have each provided over 4.5 total goals – though none of those five clashes saw the home side on the day lead at the interval.

Manuel Pellegrini cannot count on Victor Camarasa (knee) and Daniel Martin (ankle), while Andres Guardado (muscle), Juanmi (muscle), and Sidnei (muscle) are questionable to face Barcelona on Saturday.

Barcelona vs. Real Betis Pick

Barcelona won eight of the previous ten H2H encounters (D1, L1), including the last three, while Blaugrana was victorious in ten of the past 11 meetings at Camp Nou. This matchup produced a bunch of goals in recent years, so we didn’t have fewer than five goals in each of the last five duels. Both teams scored in each of the previous four, while Betis managed to find the back of the net in six of the last eight visits here. I am going with BTTS in this one.
