Aston Villa vs. Leeds United – EPL, October 23, 2020
After Monday’s victory, Aston Villa remains the only club in the English Premier League to have won every single game it has played so far this season.
Newly promoted Leeds is the opponent on Friday as Dean Smith attempts to come up with a game plan that would see his side go top of the table.
Aston Villa vs. Leeds United Odds
After the way that Leeds played against Liverpool in its opening game of the Premier League season, most fans would have had the Yorkshire club to do better than a Villa team that struggled last year. But it is this week’s home side that has looked the more accomplished so far – and the favorite tag awarded here by MyBookie is fully deserved.
Aston Villa vs. Leeds Preview
Scoring seven goals against the Premier League champions is never going to be a fluke. But facing Leicester City after a week off because of the international break could have been a major test for Villa. The scoreline might not have been quite as dramatic, but a fourth straight victory keeps the West Midlands club near the top of the table.
In all honesty, Villa is looking like one of the better teams in the division at the moment – and definitely one of the most interesting to watch. After getting most of its transfer business done early on, the addition of Ross Barkley at the end of September looks to be the cherry on top of the cake. Villa seems just about unbeatable at the moment.
Leeds has also been playing so very good soccer but manager Marcelo Bielsa is beginning to see that his fast-flowing, attacking style can also have its down sides in the top flight. The club looks like it will have no problem staying up this season, but it may have to be more decisive up front than it was in the Championship last season.
Bielsa will probably believe that his side should have beaten Wolves on Monday – and he may have a point. But Patrick Bamford missed a very good chance and they just cannot be wasted in games as tight as this one. There is nothing really to worry about at Elland Road, but a less cavalier attitude might be something to consider.
Aston Villa vs. Leeds Pick
Aston Villa to Win+127
The bookies are still finding it hard to adjust to the new successful Aston Villa after the relegation great escape of last season. But Dean Smith has his side dominating games and players like Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley looking like the best in the Premier League. The winning streak will have to end at some point, but I think it might continue for at least another weekend.
