Arsenal vs. West Ham Betting Preview – EPL, September 19, 2020
Arsenal will play its second successive London derby on Saturday as it welcomes West Ham to the Emirates after thrashing Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend.
There could be more of the same if West Ham’s performance at home to Newcastle is anything to go by. Manager David Moyes will need to have a good game plan to come away with anything from this fixture.
Arsenal vs. West Ham Odds
It looks like even MyBookie isn’t getting too carried away by Arsenal’s drubbing of Fulham last week. The Gunners may be the odds on favorite to win this one on Saturday but the price is not too off-putting. West Ham is given little chance of victory however and the away win bet can probably be disregarded.
Mikel Arteta will be very pleased with how his side dispatched a woeful Fulham team last weekend. But he will be even happier at the news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed a new contract that keeps him at the club for another three years. The striker is crucial to any chance of success for Arsenal and will be the main threat against West Ham as well.
He does have a formidable group of teammates looking to assist him in his goal-scoring duties, however. New arrivals Willian and Gabriel looked very good on their competitive debuts last weekend and Dani Ceballos impressed when he came on as a sub. Maybe the Gunners will challenge for the top four this season?
It is a fairly easy prediction to make – but West Ham probably won’t be troubling the Champions League spots this season. The club is not well run and that chaos seems to seep down onto the pitch at times. Mark Noble and Declan Rice can usually steady the ship to a point, but it is a lot of pressure to put on the two midfield players.
The Hammers looked easily second best against Newcastle last week as former striker Andy Carroll caused all kinds of problems. He didn’t get on the scoresheet but West Ham’s defense was unable to deal with him at all. There could be even more tests this week as Aubameyang and Lacazette look to get on the scoresheet.
Arsenal vs. West Ham Pick
Arsenal to Win-192
West Ham quite regularly looks to be disjointed on the pitch and could find itself being pulled apart if Arteta can get his Arsenal side to play the way it did against Fulham. This looks like the perfect start to the season for the Gunners – and another win would be very nice before the trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool next week.
