Arsenal vs. Sheffield United Betting – EPL, October 4, 2020

Arsenal will not be the only side that is beaten comprehensively by Liverpool this season, so Mikel Arteta will still be feeling confident ahead of Sunday’s game with Sheffield United.

The Yorkshire club has not started the season very well and manager Chris Wilder will be demanding at least a point from his visit to the Emirates.

Sheffield United has lost all three games so far this season, so it is not a surprise that the bookies have the Blades as underdogs for this one. I am a little surprised by the length of the odds – but probably not enough to go for the away win bet. Arsenal will be confident of winning on Sunday but I like the look of the draw at this price.

Arsenal may have taken the lead at Anfield on Monday, but the reality is that the north London side was by far the second-best in the game. Liverpool was wholly dominant and seemed to be playing with its opponents at times. But that was still only the first defeat of the season for Arsenal.

The two games before were both against far weaker opposition – and they might serve as a good indicator of what to expect from Arsenal this season. The Gunners will struggle against any of the top teams, while easily dispatching with two-thirds of the Premier League.

Sheffield United would have been classed at the same level last season, as it recorded some very good results for a newly promoted club. Form dipped towards the end of the season but the club brought a completely new way of playing into the Premier League – and a lot of opponents were unable to deal with that.

It might be that Chris Wilder’s team has been found out this year but with three games played there are no points on the board, no goals scored and only Fulham below it in the table. Sheffield United didn’t actually play badly against Leeds last week but the club is yet to reclaim the swagger we saw last season.

Mikel Arteta has transformed this Arsenal side from a group of highly skilled individuals whose heads went down after conceding a goal, to a team that can jump on mistakes and make opponents pay dearly. But there is still a fragility that can be exposed at times – and if Sheffield United concentrates a little more on the game this week, then it could come away from London with its first point of the season.
