The Arizona Cardinals head to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Sunday, October 4, to meet the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 of the 2020 NFL season.

These two NFC foes will enter their head-to-head duel in a different mood. The Cardinals just suffered their first loss in 2020, while the Panthers earned their first win of the season last weekend.

The current situation promises a spectacular clash in Charlotte, so here’s my best Cardinals vs. Panthers betting pick along with the latest odds update and all the betting tips and trends you need to know.

Cardinals vs. Panthers Odds

Cardinals -3.5-110
Panthers +3.5-110
Cardinals to Win-180
Panthers to Win+160
Over 52.0-110
Under 52.0-110

While rarely who expect anything from the Panthers in 2020, the Cardinals are a legitimate playoff contender, so the bookies slightly favor the visitors in this one.

Furthermore, the Panthers miss their best player, as Christian McCaffrey will spend at least four weeks on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

Arizona Cardinals

After beating the 49ers and Washington Football Team in the first two weeks of the 2020 NFL season, the Cardinals were strong favorites to remain the winning track in Week 3. However, they suffered a 26-23 home defeat to the Detroit Lions which was one of the biggest upsets of the previous round.

Kyler Murray tossed 270 yards, a couple of touchdowns, and three costly interceptions. He also scored once on his own, but Murray will have to learn the lesson from this loss, as well as the Cardinals’ defense that allowed 232 passing yards and mostly struggled against the Lions’ passing offense.

Arizona is scoring 25.7 points per game (17th in the NFL) on 406.3 total yards (9th), so there’s still room for improvement. The Cardinals are allowing 20.3 points (8th) on 334.7 total yards (8th), but the Lions showed us that Arizona possesses some defensive flaws that can be exploited a lot.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers lost CMC in Week 2, so they visited the LA Chargers as 6-point underdogs on Sunday. They pulled off a huge upset, tallying a well-deserved 21-16 victory to snap a 10-game losing streak. That’s right, the Panthers were winless since November 3, 2019, when they outlasted Tennessee at home.

Mike Davis replaced Christian McCaffrey as a starting RB, and he posted 91 yards from scrimmage and scored a TD. Teddy Bridgewater completed 22 of his 28 passing attempts for 235 yards and one TD, while the Panthers’ D forced four turnovers to round up a terrific day in California.

The Panthers are allowing 27.0 points per game (19th) on 382.3 total yards (21st). They still have to continue improving defensively, as the first two games of the season showed that Carolina’s defense is very vulnerable.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers Pick

CMC’s absence is a massive blow for the Panthers, but with Teddy Bridgewater under center, this Carolina team seems dangerous offensively. Bridgewater can rely on some young and talented playmakers, and I hope the Panthers will learn from the Lions how to damage the Cards’ defense.

Anyway, don’t be fooled with the Panthers’ defensive performance in Week 3. The Chargers’ offense is poor and led by a rookie QB. This time, the Panthers will face much tougher competition, and Kyler Murray is fired up to bounce back from his bad performance in Week 3.

The Cardinals have a lot of dangerous options on the offensive end and should win this game, but I think betting on the over is a better deal. Arizona is winless in four straight encounters with Carolina, and the over is 4-0 in the process.
