Aqueduct Racetrack Picks – Friday, December 18, 2020

| December 17, 2020 12:05 pm PDT

Aqueduct Racetrack brings us nine mostly claiming races for Friday’s wagering and entertainment, with a number of purses nearing the $100,000 mark, which seems to have brought out some of the best competitors, oddly enough.

I’m reviewing Friday’s three richest races at Aqueduct here, but you can find their entire nine-race card — including horses, jockeys, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our recommended online racebooks.

Read on for my Aqueduct Racetrack picks and betting tips for Friday’s three richest races.

Pick for Aqueduct Racetrack Race 3

This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $84,000.

My money’s on the 6/5 morning line favorite — Gone Glimmering, with Manuel Franco aboard. This three-year-old filly moneyed nine of her 12 career starts, winning five.

The longest odds in this six-horse race are 10/1, and I don’t think that’s going to happen, not against this field, so save your long money for later.

  •  Win: Gone Glimmering 6/5

Picks for Aqueduct Racetrack Race 6

This is a maiden special weight race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of seven furlongs for a purse of $70,000.

I’m going to have to agree with the morning line for this race, as well, and put my two bucks down on the 7/5 favorite — Beautiful Karen, with Jose Lezcano in the irons. This three-year-old filly finished in the money three of her four career starts.

There are some real longshots in this nine-horse maiden race, but the longest I could go for a value show wager would be 10/1 on I’m Fine, ridden by Eric Cancel. This three-year-old filly moneyed three of her five career starts.

  •  Win: Beautiful Karen 7/5
  •  Show: I’m Fine 10/1

Pick for Aqueduct Racetrack Race 8

This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $82,000.

My money is on the second-favored (3/1) entry in this race — Customerexperience, with Kendrick Carmouche aboard. This three-year-old filly moneyed six of her nine career starts, winning three.

Sure, the morning line favorite, South of the Shore, moneyed all six of her starts, but she hasn’t raced since 2019 when it took her four attempts to break her maiden. She’s too much of an uncertainty here.

There are a few long-odds entries in this field, including a couple of 30/1 longshots, but none of them appears likely to do anything more than follow the other horses across the finish line.

  •  Win: Customerexperience 3/1

My Other Predictions for Friday

Aqueduct Racetrack had a couple of surprises for me, but remember that I reviewed Friday races at these other tracks:
