Aqueduct Racetrack Picks – Saturday, December 12, 2020

Aqueduct Racetrack headlines the ungraded Alex M. Robb Stakes in its nine-race schedule of maiden, allowance, and claiming races for our Saturday entertainment.

This is an allowance optional claiming race for New York-foaled three-year-olds and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $74,000.

I like one of the fourth-favored entries (there are two at 6/1) in this race — Wow Brown, with Joel Rosario aboard. This four-year-old gelding moneyed eight of his ten career starts, winning four.

The longest odds in this eight-horse race are 8/1, so let’s save our long-odds show-wagering money for later.

This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $82,000.

I’m sticking with the 9/2 morning line favorite — Dudley Square, with Manuel Franco in the irons. This three-year-old colt finished in the money three of his five career starts, winning one.

At 20/1, Singapore Trader, with Jorge A. Vargas Jr. aboard, looks like a good value show bet. This five-year-old gelding moneyed 11 of his 22 career starts, winning five. His 2020 record is even better: Five money finishes in eight starts, with two wins.

This is the Alex M. Robb Stakes, an ungraded stakes race for New York-foaled three-year-olds and upward running a distance of 1-1/8 miles for a purse of $100,000.

I’m betting on the second-favored (5/2) entry here — Sea Foam, ridden by Joel Rosario, This five-year-old finished in the money for 12 of his 19 career starts, winning seven.

The longest odds in this six-horse stakes race are Yankee Division’s morning line of 15/1, but I don’t see that horse finishing anywhere near the money, not against this field.
