It is no surprise that all the best A-League betting sites favor Adelaide United. Having won each of their last three matches, the Reds find themselves third on the A-League ladder – 12 points clear of tenth-place Western Sydney.

Not only have the Wanderers lost three of their last four outings, but they have also lost eight of their previous 12. With that in mind, the price for the home win feels very generous at this moment in time.

On Sunday, the South Australians extended their winning streak to three games with a 2-1 victory over Newcastle Jets. Angus Thurgate canceled out George Blackwood’s early opener, but Mohamed Toure netter the winner on 88 minutes.

At just 17, Toure is already a pivotal player for Adelaide. The highly-rated teenager has bagged three goals across his last five appearances, scoring in wins over Melbourne City, Perth Glory, and Newcastle.

The Reds have won four of their last five matches. When you look at the bigger picture, they have won six of their previous nine. Let’s not forget that Adelaide started the campaign with a five-match winless run.

Since the turn of the year, the South Australians have suffered just two defeats in 12 outings – picking up seven wins and three draws along the way. It’s fair to say that they have enjoyed 2022 up to now.

Western Sydney parted ways with head coach Carl Robinson after the team managed to claim just one victory across the first seven games. Mark Rudan replaced Robinson in late January, but the results remain the same.

The Wanderers have lost five of their eight matches since Rudan took the reins. Granted, they have picked up three wins. But they still find themselves third from bottom on the A-League ladder.

It is also worth pointing out that Western Sydney has the fourth-worst defensive record in the league. Goalkeepers Daniel Margush and Tomas Mejias have kept just five clean sheets between them this season.

The Wanderers have conceded over 2.5 goals in exactly half of their previous ten games. Unfortunately, they are just about to face the Reds, who have scored at least two goals in seven of their last ten outings.

This matchup brings together the team with the second-best offensive record and the fourth-worst defensive record. Adelaide has scored 27 goals in 17 games (1.6 goals per game), while Western Sydney has conceded 23 in 15 (1.5 goals per game).

For that reason, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’m backing the Reds to dispatch the Wanderers on Wednesday.

On top of that, the contrasting form of these two sides is clear for all to see. While the South Australians have won six of their last nine matches, Rudan’s boys have lost eight of their previous 12.

In all honesty, I’m struggling to figure out why Adelaide is priced at 2.10. With the Reds on the rise and the Wanderers on the slide, I recommend jumping on this price before the bookmakers change their minds.
