It is an exciting Serie A battle between two teams that are looking to cement their position near the top of their Serie A league standings. For Milan, this is an opportunity to build some consistency, as they have been a difficult team to try to read. Just as it seems that they are back on track, they get right back into their old patterns.

Despite the inconsistent play, AC Milan still enters as the top team in the group. Now it will be Verona who looks to get back on track after two straight disappointing performances. This an opportunity for both teams to try to establish their identities.

Milan enters at the top of the standings at 5-0-1 while Verona is in seventh at 3-1-2.

AC Milan vs. Verona Odds

AC Milan -1.0-138
Verona to Win+501
AC Milan to Win-212

Over 3.0-109
Under 3.0-120

According to the odds at MyBookie.ag, AC Milan looks to be the clear favorite in this contest. Even when surrendering a goal, they still are given the best odds to win.

The total is set at 3.0. AC Milan is averaging 2.33 goals per game while allowing .83 per contest through their first six games. Verona has scored eight goals in their six games while allowing just three.

AC Milan vs. Verona Preview

The last time these two teams met they played to a draw, 1-1. That was back on February 2 before the pandemic shut down most of the international soccer.

Now they meet under entirely different circumstances. AC Milan has been getting outstanding play from their backline of Kjaer, Gabbia, Hernandez, and Calabria, who withstood a vigorous attack by Udinese on Sunday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Leao, Diaz, and Saelemaekers make up the front line for Milan and they are a solid group. Zlatan is one of the best playmakers and has a wonderful touch, with a 71.8% pass accuracy. Rafael Leao has been a big-time performer, scoring four goals in 10 appearances and his passing accuracy comes in at 81.2%.

Verona is led by forward Antonin Barak, who is a great finisher. He has two goals in his last five matches with a passing accuracy of 78.5% and 1.8 aerials won per game. Tameze and Zaccagni have done a great job of creating opportunities for Barak, which should give them a good opportunity to have some scoring opportunities.

Ceccherini, Lovato, and Empereur have been solid on the backline for Verona. Ceccherini is extremely skilled with the ball and has 2.8 aerials won per game and 2.5 interceptions per contest.

AC Milan vs. Verona Pick

Pick
  • AC Milan -1.0
    -138

This contest will be held at San Siro Stadium. Despite some struggles to gain some consistency, AC Milan remains unbeaten while Verona has struggled to get their offense going. Trying to remedy that problem against Milan is not the best formula for success.

The experts are expecting AC Milan to dominate this match, and there is no reason to doubt that. They have been excellent with the ball and have finished attacks. Verona has a solid backline, but they are going to find it difficult to match up against a very talented AC Milan club.

I look for Matteo Gabbia to have a big game in leading his club to victory. He has been one of the most consistent players in the league through the first six contests, playing exceptionally well in transition and defensively.
