The BTS Pro Series Season 3: Europe and CIS doesn’t feature some of the best Dota 2 teams in the region, but has been entertaining nonetheless. I was curious to see how 5men performs after some exciting matches in the Omega League.

The start in the current tournament has been abysmal for the side and the guys will have to improve if they want a good position for the playoffs. The next clash against Unique could be vital for their ambitions, so I expect a better performance.

The 5men vs. Unique odds of the best Dota 2 betting sites are in line with my thinking about the upcoming clash. The sportsbooks obviously view 5men as the favorite, but the format is such that the draw is a very likely scenario.

When 5men completely destroyed everyone in the Omega League Immortal Division qualifiers, it looked like we have a team that could enter straight into the top Dota 2 tier in Europe. The performance against the big guys was decent as well and the same can be said about the Divine Division matches.

I expected more of the same in the BTS Pro Series, but that hasn’t been the case. 5men started the tournament with a sound defeat against mudgolems and were then destroyed by Vikin.gg.

That puts the team in a bad position when it comes to the playoffs. On top of that, I haven’t seen any consistency and a clear path to success. 5men tried different drafting strategies and nothing has worked so far.

The squad needs to improve quickly or a place in the lower bracket will be the best 5men could hope for.

It’s hard to evaluate Unique’s condition based on what we’ve seen in the BTS Pro Series Season 3 up to this point. The team started with a one-sided defeat versus the best team in the competition Vikin.gg and then beat the punching bag B8.

Both matches were expected to unfold this way, so the one against 5men is the true test for Unique. That’s an opponent roughly on the same level or even slightly above that. If the squad can win or at least draw, it would be an important step towards a decent position in the knockouts.

I expect better from 5men compared to the team’s first two matches, but I’m not convinced it will be enough for a win. Unique is a decent squad that should be able to put up a fight and the draw makes the most sense. The price of +102 is high enough for me and this is my final betting pick.
