The 2021 NFL season is upon us, and the excitement will soon follow. The playoff picture is going to get highly entertaining, especially after last season.

The postseason last year featured three wild card berths for the first time. The expansion has made home-field advantage even more pivotal.

Winning the close games has enabled the confidence needed to make a postseason push towards the Super Bowl.

The NFL has also added another game and week to the season ahead. Running the table will be even more difficult to duplicate what the Patriots did in 2007-08.

Offseason NFL future wagers are often some of the more popular bets due to the odds. The value won’t change much in the final weeks entering a season barring a preseason injury.

Which teams can run the table? Let’s find out! Here are your best bets to go undefeated during the NFL in 2021-22.

Kansas City Chiefs (+3500)

Patrick Mahomes enters his fourth season as the full-time starter, and the team has won either 12 or 14 games in every season thus far. Andy Reid is an offensive guru, but the pieces he has at his disposal are flawless.

Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill have turned into first-round locks for fantasy football folks, and Mahomes has been the top quarterback taken.

The Chiefs have a favorable schedule overall, and most of the more challenging games are early in the season.

If you are worried about four of the first five games, that is normal. The Bills, Browns, Ravens, and Chargers could be the best teams in the AFC this season. One would have to exclude Kansas City since they are the consensus pick to repeat as AFC Champions.

The chances of them going undefeated aren’t amazing, but it may come down to September and consecutive road games in October against Washington and Tennessee. Just remember, Mahomes has been unbeatable at home in September.

Take a look at these numbers.

  • 10-0 record
  • 32 passing TDs
  • 0 INT

If they can run the table going into those consecutive road games, a 17-0 season would become a realistic possibility.

At the price of +3500, the Chiefs are arguably your best bet entering the season. Need more reason to back the Chiefs to go 20-0 in 2021? Check out this post on why it could happen.

5 Reasons Why the Chiefs Could Go 20-0 in 2021

The Kansas City Chiefs aim high when it comes to their long-term goals. Despite ending last year on a sour note in a crushing Super Bowl defeat, Patrick Mahomes and co. are thinking about perfection. It’s only natural, as the NFL moves to its first ever...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+5000)

The next best team in the NFL is Tampa Bay. Yes, Tampa took it to the Chiefs in the last game we saw last year. But Kansas City has started scratching the surface of their talent on both sides of the ball.

Plus, their offensive line should be light years ahead of the one they trotted out in the Super Bowl.

Still, it feels like Tampa Bay could post a much better record than last season.

Tom Brady is a gamer in the regular season. He has only missed the postseason once in his entire career when he has stayed healthy. Tampa Bay has as much talent on defense as any team in the game. Their offensive weapons are spectacular, and they have a schedule that is in their favor.

Tampa Bay failed to win their division, and for the first time in Brady’s career, he had to play a Wild Card game on the road. Three straight road victories, and the rest is history. Everything is pointing towards the NFC playoff picture coming through Raymond James Stadium.

Trips to Los Angeles (NFC) and Washington in the early on might be their most challenging games. Those two defensive lines could be concerning, but Brady has done more with far less at his disposal.

The key for this wager to come true will be Tampa Bay’s record as they head into their bye. If they start 8-0, the 1972 Dolphins might have to become huge Washington fans as the rest of the games following could be lopsided.

Baltimore Ravens (+6500)

Lamar Jackson has played plenty of pressure football in his young career with the Ravens. John Harbaugh continues to dominate in the preseason, and the momentum is there for Baltimore to have another deep run in the postseason.

Having a home-field advantage would be critical for Jackson’s development.

They had to play at Tennessee and on the road against Buffalo in the first two rounds of the postseason. That is asking far too much for a limited offense that lacked weapons in their passing attack.

They drafted and signed free agents to help further the process for Jackson and their inept passing game, but the schedule is among one of the most challenging in the NFL.

Baltimore is among the favorites to go undefeated due to their overall roster talent.

They have an elite special team’s unit, but they have gutted out victories at the line of scrimmage. Baltimore has dominated the time of possession before, and they will look to do the same this upcoming season. This team is not the best bet to run the table, but the value is enticing.

Buffalo Bills (+6500)

The Bills are another devastating offensive team. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs form one of the best QB-WR duos in the NFL. They are nearly indefensible when Allen has a clean pocket to throw. He is an exceptional athlete that can run by and through defenders.

One of the more challenging offenses to defend can win every game in a shootout if their defensive struggles continue.

Seriously, look at how nasty this team was offensively in 2020.

  • 29.9 points per game (3rd)
  • 385.4 yards per game (4th)
  • 0.468 points per play (3rd)
  • 3.5 touchdowns per game (5th)

At +6500, this is the best value among the upper-echelon teams, but the AFC East figured to be an improved division this season.

Week 5 and 6 against the Chiefs and Titans will let us know what sort of season they will put together.

Will Any NFL Team Go Undefeated This Season?

If you’re betting on whether anyone can go 20-0 this year, you’re assuming some risk. The mere addition of a 17th regular season game may make this impossible.

Because of that (and more), I am siding with caution and will fade the notion that a team will go undefeated this season. We haven’t seen it since New England did so in 2008-09.

The Patriots then lost in the Super Bowl against the Giants, but we haven’t seen anybody close the deal. The NFL has plenty of bumps in the road to suffer a few losses.

While this is one of the better wagers you could target in terms of value, the chances are slim.

The extra week added to the schedule makes it even more of a challenge. Injuries and keeping players fresh will be a priority once the season gets into December.

I like the Chiefs as the best bet, but I would take a pass on all these teams. Look elsewhere for your top entertaining future wagers.
