3 Matchups to Target at the BMW Championship in 2020

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The easiest way to turn a profit betting on golf is to target head-to-head matchups. You don’t have to be a golf guru and you don’t have to try and be perfect.
Just scope the sites, compare the odds, and don’t be afraid to take a stance.
With that in mind, let’s get right into my BMW Championship matchup picks.
Bryson DeChambeau vs. Dustin Johnson
Fading DJ this week is a perfect example of not being afraid to take a stance. I won’t pretend to have found any flaws in Dustin’s game, but I will shed light on a significant price discrepancy that might pique your interest.
Many of the top golf sportsbooks installed Bryson at -115 versus DJ – hinting at a bit of regression expected from Johnson. However, Bovada is letting us grab hold of DeChambeau at even money.
Get in on that.
Look for Dustin’s putter to cool off dramatically while Bryson’s should start to heat up.
Remember – DJ hasn’t played Olympia Field competitively. On the other hand, the “Mad Scientist” dominated his competition here at the 2015 U.S. Amateur and walked away with the Havemeyer Trophy.

Brian Harman vs. Mackenzie Hughes
Credit to Brian Harman for a sizzling 64 Sunday at TPC Boston to punch his ticket to Chicago. The former Bulldog did exactly what he needed to go to keep his playoff run alive, but let’s pump the brakes on deeming him a -135 favorite of Mackenzie Hughes.
Both of these guys have similar games and are both are trending in the right direction. In that case, give me the guy dripping with upside at +115.
Forget about what Mack did or didn’t do early in the season and focus on his results post-restart. What you see is seven straight made cuts including a couple of top-6 finishes. His 13th last week at the Northern Trust sets him up to make a serious push toward Atlanta.

Byeong Hun An vs. Joel Dahmen
Byeong Hun An beat one player last week at the Northern Trust and missed the cut by 11. Don’t be surprised though – he’s missed three of his last five cuts and four of eight since play resumed. Simply put, we just can’t trust Byeong at this point in time.
I have a lot more faith in Joel Dahmen – of my BMW Championship sleepers this week.
The best ball-strikers will have a distinct advantage at the layout at Olympia Fields, so let’s compare these two.

Byeong Hun An | 121st | 71st |
Joel Dahmen | 25th | 44th |
Nine rounds on tour since July 31st and Joel hasn’t shot anything higher than 70. I’m more than happy to lay -108 that he beats Byeong Hun An at the BMW.
