Predictions and Betting Tips for the 2021 NASCAR Jockey Made in America 250

If you’re looking for odds for the NASCAR Cup Series this 4th of July, 2021, you’ve come to the right place.
I’ll be sharing the Jockey Made in America 250 odds with you today ahead of a huge weekend at Road America, near the beautiful Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. This is the first time since 1956 that this road course has staged a premier NASCAR race — what a way to spend Independence Day!
Betting on the Cup Series this weekend, you should find my Jockey Made in America 250 predictions and picks very useful. As mentioned previously, this is a road course race, so it’s no surprise to see the betting odds for the 2021 Made in America 250 favor Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.
Let’s see what the best betting sites online have to say before making my predictions for NASCAR at Road America.
NASCAR Jockey Made in America 250 Odds
Cup Series odds can cause surprise from week to week, but as mentioned above, things are more predictable ahead of this race.
We have one of the masters of road courses in Chase Elliott hitting the board at +225, with the best driver in the Cup Series in 2021, Kyle Larson, just behind him (+300). Martin Truex Jr. is the only remaining driver with odds for the Jockey Made in America 250 under +1000.
Is there NASCAR betting value to be found ahead of this weekend? Well, sure, there is. But with no track data available, we’re going to have to consider other factors that could support why an underdog could be among the top choices for who wins the Jockey Made in America 250.
Additionally, Kyle Busch could be worth a shout following his success in Pocono.
2021 Jockey Made in America 250 Betting Tips
- Where: Road America
- When: Sunday, July 4
Chase Elliott has six wins and two runner-up finishes from his last eleven Cup Series races on road courses.
If you didn’t know why the defending champ is the man to watch this weekend, now you know.
Take a DNF and a disappointing 21st at Daytona Road Course in February out of the equation, and Elliott’s worst finishing position from his last 12 starts at road courses is 6th. That’s impressive in any language.
But is there betting value in his odds? No, I don’t think there is. Therefore, I’m not making Elliott my betting pick for the Jockey Made in America 250. With that said, I’m not going to pretend that he doesn’t deserve to be the favorite in this race.
But, we do know there are other drivers suited to road courses. But then again, there are others more than capable of springing a surprise this weekend.
With all things considered, Larson (+300) and Truex (+700) are the only drivers that, on paper, can put it up to Elliott. Larson has the last win on a road course in the Cup Series, which was Sonoma on June 6. He has been on fire recently and offers a little bit of a better price than Elliott.
Ultimately, I will pass on both Elliott and Larson and opt for Truex plus two awesome value shots in Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick.
- Martin Truex Jr. +700
- Denny Hamlin +1600
- Kevin Harvick +2200
If I had to choose one of my betting picks for the 2021 Jockey Made in America 250? Well, it’s gotta be this guy…
Jockey Made in America 250 Betting Pick
-
Martin Truex Jr.+700
Experience? Check. A proven track record on road courses? Aye. Value? Yup.
Look, Truex’s performances have died down a little as of late. But 3rd at Sonoma on June 6 is his best finish since picking up three wins in this season’s competition.
With an average finish of 7.91 from his last 11 starts at road courses, Truex is the best value for money ahead of NASCAR at Road America. He is a former Cup Series champ with that little extra bit of experience over the likes of Elliott and Larson that could come in very useful this weekend.
I’m predicting a big race for Truex this weekend. He’s my betting pick for the 2021 Jockey Made in America 250.
Closing Thoughts
Before betting on the Jockey Made in America 250 this Sunday, dispel any notion that it’s going to be a two-horse race.
Truex offers the best value, all things considered. But I would also think about taking Hamlin and/or Harvick at their very impressive odds. This is a new track for these guys, and there is no reason to believe that experience should not play a major role in navigating their way to the checkered flag.
So, that’s all for me. I’m going to leave you with an article regarding more potential tracks that could be added to the NASCAR calendar shortly, courtesy of Nick Sterling.
