If you’re betting on the Food City Dirt race at Bristol this Sunday, March 28, you’ll be looking for answers.

Just like everyone else looking to make money gambling on NASCAR Cup Series this weekend, right? After all, this event marks the first time since 1970 that NASCAR has had a dirt race on the calendar. So, abiding by the usual model of track history, historical performances of drivers, etc., is not something we can do.

But that doesn’t mean I’m shying away from providing my predictions and betting pick for the Food City Dirt Race. In this betting preview for Sunday’s race, you will find the following.

Betting on the 2021 Food City Dirt Race

  • Where: Bristol Motor Speedway, Tennessee
  • When: Sunday, March 28

Who will win the NASCAR Food City Dirt Race in 2021?

Will it be one of the in-form drivers currently making waves or someone from out of the left-field? Granted, making your betting picks for the Food City Dirt Race should come down to what you deem important ahead of the race this Sunday.

Here are three top contenders for the NASCAR Cup Series Dirt Race, based on what I think will be most important at Bristol on Sunday — experience and success on dirt tracks.

Christopher Bell +700

The first of my Food City Dirt Race predictions is a solid showing for Bell.

The official NASCAR leaderboard sees Bell occupy ninth place following a pretty good start to the season. With the right style and attitude for the first dirt race since 1970, Sunday could see the 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion pick up his second Cup Series win and lay down a marker for the rest of the season.

Austin Dillon +900

Dillon is 11th on the Cup Series leaderboard with no wins and one top-5 from six races this season.

A top-notch sleeper for a few other races in 2021 so far, this week sees Dillon chalked up as one of the most popular Food City Dirt Race picks. I’m predicting a solid run for Dillon and see a top-3 finish for the man from NASCAR royalty.

Chase Briscoe +1000

Briscoe is another driver that deserves attention ahead of Sunday’s race.

Dirt tracks suit the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year, and his versatility could see him land his first top-5 finish in the Cup Series at the least.

Briscoe’s experience and handling on dirt tracks have not gone under the radar. So, the question will be, are his odds for the Food City Dirt Race in 2021 good enough to take?

My 2021 NASCAR Food City Dirt Race Pick

  • Kyle Larson +250

Lucky to be back in the Cup Series following last year’s unfortunate and highly-controversial episode, it appears that Larson has learned his lesson.

So far this season, he has been in scintillating form. He sits 2nd in the official NASCAR Cup Series leaderboard with 234 points gained from one win and three top-5s.

Here’s the boldest of predictions for the Food City Dirt Race — by Sunday night, Larson will have two wins this season and will be top of the leaderboard. Why? Well, Larson is the best of the bets to win the Food City Dirt Race. Not only does he have the momentum behind him right now, but he is, by far, the leading Cup Series driver on dirt tracks.

While Larson is an absolute monster in the dirt arena, his versatility is also a huge asset. I believe “Yung Money” to be the most naturally talented driver on the grid this weekend, and with a few other factors playing into his hands, he has to be the favorite for Bristol this weekend.

His incredible season on the dirt has certainly stood him apart, but all of the above factors mean that I must make Kyle Larson my Food City Dirt Race pick for 2021.
