Betting Tips for the 2021 F1 Austrian Grand Prix

My F1 predictions were on point last weekend, with Max Verstappen storming to a win at the Steiermark Grand Prix.

Red Bull’s Verstappen is looking like great value to win his maiden Formula One Drivers’ Championship and will be super-confident of extending his lead over the Drivers’ Championship this weekend.

I’m excited to see how he responds to the pressure this brings and will touch on this a little in my predictions and betting pick for the Austrian Grand Prix for 2021.

One of the things I considered before putting this betting preview of the Austrian GP together was the value in Lewis Hamilton’s odds to win. Additionally, I sized up whether a dark horse could emerge to hit both between the eyes and take maximum points.

As you can see, Max Verstappen is the man the oddsmakers are leaning toward ahead of this weekend’s F1.

But are Verstppen’s odds to win the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix enough to part you with your money? Well, let’s be clear — the Belgian-Dutch superstar more than deserves to be the favorite for the race.

Last Sunday, the young gun proved to the world that he could handle the pressure of being the main man. Well, other than tire allocation, the answer is nothing. We’re at the same track. We have the same agenda, with Mercedes’ problems looking nowhere close to being resolved.

Therefore, I’m confident in my Austrian Grand Prix predictions and betting picks coming through. I believe Verstappen takes the win, the pole, and will storm to the fastest lap. 

Sergio Perez is a great shout to make the podium this weekend, while Lando Norris — who I predicted would have a strong race last Sunday — is once again my dark horse for the weekend.

It’s crunch time for Mercedes.

Still, it’s as simple as this —  Max Verstappen has the momentum behind him ahead of this weekend’s F1 triple-header finale, and I can’t see him slipping up on Red Bull’s home track. 

You can never count Lewis Hamilton out, but as pointed out, he has been hampered by some questionable strategy and decision-making from his team as of late.

There is no denying that the Mercedes W12 is an incredible machine, but some developments are needed to turn it into a championship-winning car. As of now, there is work to be done, and Red Bull has the speed advantage.

Hamilton’s odds to win the 2021 Austrian GP are tempting, but I can’t look past Verstappen right now. He has what it takes to make a statement of intent at the Red Bull Ring and take one step closer to his first Drivers’ Championship.
