Venues and Betting Odds for Every Golf Major in 2022

The 2022 major championship season gets underway in early April at the hallowed grounds of Augusta. It culminates in mid-July at the historic home of golf.

Now that the 2021-22 PGA Tour season is in full swing, let’s take a closer look at where and when the majors will be played in the upcoming year.

I’ve included an early look at the betting odds for each, highlighting all individuals priced under +4000.

As is the case for all the majors in 2022, Jon Rahm’s name sits at the top of the list. The world’s #1-ranked golfer.

When Jon steers down Magnolia Lane in spring of next year, it’ll be the fifth time he’s made the trip to Augusta to compete.

Rahm finished 27^th in his debut in 2017 and has been knocking on the door ever since. Perhaps 2022 is when “Rahmbo” gets a taste of a Green Jacket.

Originally scheduled to be played at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ, the PGA of America axed that decision in January to avoid any turmoil. A couple of weeks later Southern Hills Country Club was chosen as the replacement.

Southern Hills CC was last on display at the 2021 Senior PGA Championship (won by Alex Cejka); it’s also hosted three US Opens.

The 2022 PGA Championship will be the fifth time the Wanamaker Trophy will be handed out at this venue.

One of the five charter clubs that originated the USGA, The Country Club is an acclaimed Willie Campbell design that has stood the test of time, although Gil Hanse came in for a facelift in 2009 in preparation for hosting the 2013 US Amateur.

The Country Club at Brookline has hosted three previous US Opens (1913, 1963, 1988) and is the site of the famous Justin Leonard putt at the 1999 Ryder Cup.

July marks the 150^th Open. It also represents the 30^th time that the Old Course at St. Andrews will host the proceedings.

Woods competed in the 1995 British Open at St Andrews as a baby-faced amateur; he’s also been in the field for each of the four Open Championships held at the Old Course since (2000, 2005, 2010, 2015). This includes emerging as the Champion Golfer of the Year twice at “The Old Lady” (2000, 2005).
