Recapping Week Two of Dancing With The Stars Season 30
The first week-long wait for the next episode has come to an end. Elimination week is here and the judges did not hold back in this one. Week 1 was all fun and games since no one was on the chopping block, but that’s all done now.
Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby have both tested positive despite being fully vaccinated, but they still have a chance to continue on the show. Let’s get into what happened in Week 2 of Dancing With the Stars.
Let’s look at some of the top performances of the night.
Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten
Amanda and Alan put on another great performance and finished in first place after the first two weeks. They scored the highest out of any couple in Week 2 with an incredible score of 32 out of 40.
Her background in Broadway is looking to be paying off big time so far and looks to be a strong contender moving forward.
JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson
This pair followed up their big Week 1 performance with another great one. They scored 31 out of 40 this week and tied Amanda and Alan for first place after the first two weeks.
JoJo has been doing very well and the same sex couple looks to be working together very well.
Melanie C and Gleb Savchenko
Mel C and Gleb were the third highest scoring pair in Week 2. They finished third with their combined score over the past two weeks.
She looks to be a very strong dancer and should be able to put up a strong fight against Amanda Kloots and JoJo Siwa moving forward.
Worst Performances in Week 2
Here are the lowest scored performances from the following contestants.
Martin Kove and Britt Stewart
Martin Kove was not going to be anyone’s pick for winning the show. He and Britt scored 13 out of 40 and followed it up with a slightly better performance with 15 out of 40 in Week 2.
Martin is doing what a lot of 75-year-olds can’t do, but his time on the show has come to an end and he is the first star to be eliminated.
Their score was a whopping 18 points lower than the next lowest score, making the judges’ decision between them and Christine and Pasha very easy.
Matt James and Lindsay Arnold
The Bachelor and his dance partner scored two points lower in Week 2 than in Week 1, with a score of 22 out of 40 for their second dance.
Matt James took off his jacket and tossed it to Bruno, but it wasn’t enough to save his score from being second worst in Week 2.
The pair find themselves tied for last heading into Week 3 with Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach.
Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess
The third worst score in Week 2 goes to Brian and Sharna. The dance couple and real-life couple didn’t wow the judges in Week 2 with a score of 23 out of 40 and a combined score of 47 between their first two weeks.
They are just one point ahead of Matt and Lindsay and Iman and Daniella.
A Sigh of Relief for Cody Rigsby
With Cheryl testing positive for COVID-19 and Cody obviously being a close contact, neither of them was at the ballroom for Week 2.
Instead of being eliminated from the show, they were able to showcase one of their practice routines instead and were scored from that.
They ended up scoring a mediocre 24 out of 40, but they will take that being that it wasn’t even in person. They should be able to make next week’s episode if Cheryl can recover quickly.

What Will Happen in Week 3?
Week 3 is going to be even more interesting considering that Martin Kove and Britt Stewart are not the couple to be at the bottom. We have two couples tied for last place, but they are not far behind the rest of the pack like the Karate Kid was.
Things should get more interesting in terms of eliminations and which couple is going to take a commanding lead. Besides the three couples who have already been very good, some other pairs will be interesting to watch moving forward.
Olivia Jade and Suni Lee both are very young, but are proving themselves to be very talented dancers for their age. They both will be very fun to watch and could make it far in this show.
This week wasn’t very nerve racking at the elimination with Martin and Britt’s scores being so bad in the first two weeks, but that shouldn’t be the case moving forward. I expect closer eliminations and more intense battles for first place next week and for the rest of the season.
