The regular season is scheduled to run from December 13 to January 25. During that period, we will be able to enjoy two Melbourne Derby showdowns and two editions of the Sydney Smash.

The postseason begins on January 27, with the final slated for February 4. Here are all the key dates for BBL|12.

Following a COVID-ravaged 2021-22 season, all eight teams will have seven home matches in 2022-23. This will mean a return to Optus Stadium for the Scorchers, who played just one home match in BBL|11 due to Western Australia’s border restrictions.

On top of that, the league will expand to 17 venues across the country following the announcement that Albury will host its first competitive men’s Big Bash match.

For the first time ever, the Big Bash League will hold a draft for overseas players this year. We may be more than four months away from the new season, but many high-profile players have already been confirmed.

West Indies legends Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard will be among the most sought-after players in the draft. South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and New Zealand’s Colin Munro will also be hugely popular.
