NFL Sportsbooks Favor Detroit Lions to Be Last Winless Team in 2021

The 2021 NFL season hasn’t been kind to the Detroit Lions. To be fair, it wasn’t expected to be, as the Lions traded away franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford during the offseason and broke in a new head coach.

Detroit entered 2021 with one of the least talented rosters in the NFL, so an 0-4 start isn’t that shocking.

It still has to sting for Lions fans to check out the top sites for NFL betting and see Detroit favored to be the last winless team in 2021, however.

And then there were two. The Lions are sharing this regrettable position with the hapless Jaguars, who are also 0-4.

These are the only two winless NFL teams through four weeks, and bettors can try to predict who will be the last team standing.

Detroit leads the way due to inferior talent, while they also arguably operate out of a slightly tougher division.

Looking to the immediate future, Detroit has games against the Vikings, Bengals, Rams, Eagles, Steelers, and Browns over their next five contests. They’re likely to be the underdogs in each of those games.

Jacksonville, meanwhile, has inched closer to a win in recent weeks and may have two winnable games (Titans and Dolphins) over the next two weeks.

The Lions have lost games in every way possible to get 2021 going. They rallied to make a week one loss to the 49ers appear close, but they were getting blown out for much of the game.

Detroit was competitive initially in week two against the Packers, but they got blown out. They weren’t very competitive last week in a loss to the rival Bears, and their week three loss was of the gut-wrenching variety.

Detroit has displayed an ability to rally or stay in some games, but the result hasn’t changed through four weeks.

Dan Campbell hasn’t been an A-list coach to this point, but he’s also had little to work with. Detroit’s 2021 prospects don’t get remarkably better going forward, as the second worst team in their division just beat them convincingly.

The Lions are favored to be the last winless team for the 2021 NFL season, but it’s not like they don’t have stiff competition.

Jacksonville is also winless, they offer better value for sports bettors, and they may be the most dysfunctional franchise in the league right now.

That could have been the case even before Urban Meyer was added to the team, and his latest antics have this thing potentially going off the rails.

Jacksonville has a slightly softer schedule in the immediate future and they’re more talented, but sports bettors will want to take a long, hard look at both teams when thinking about this wager at Bovada.
