Early 2022 Six Nations Odds – France Leads the Way as Favorites

  • France is priced at +150 to win the Six Nations.
  • Strong form in Autumn makes them favorites.
  • Les Bleus are also the favorites for the Grand Slam.

Of all the many talking points following an incredible Autumn Internationals series, French rugby is at the fore of it all.

The French also find themselves heading into the new year as the betting favorites for the Six Nations in 2022.

A superb victory over the All Blacks has sounded a bell that the sleeping giant of world rugby has now awakened from its slumber.

But in true French fashion in the competition, will it all fall apart when it comes to the crunch?

Early Six Nations 2022 Odds

France+150
England+275
Ireland+350
Wales+650
Scotland+1000
Italy+50000

Fabien Galthie’s France is +150 to win the Six Nations with online rugby betting sites.

The side’s thumping of New Zealand in Paris in November — the first win of its kind since 1973 — has catapulted Les Bleus to the top of the board.

Behind France is England at +275. The English enjoyed a solid Autumn campaign, picking up the tightest of victories over World Cup champions South Africa.

Ireland was arguably the team of the Autumn, beating New Zealand for the third time in five years and playing a brand of rugby that has not been seen in the green shirt for what feels like an eternity.

Why the French Are Favorites

With some more experienced stars supporting a frighteningly impressive crop of youngsters, the French look to be in their best shape since the 2000s.

I would make a case in favor of this team being arguably better. Like some who follow the sport, I’m satisfied to see my earlier prediction of a golden generation emerging from the back-to-back U20s World Champions sides.

With the incredible halfback pairing of Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack — as well as big-game players like Damian Penaud, Gregory Alldritt, and Demba Bamba — France deserves to be the favorites for the 2022 Six Nations.

It’s been a long time since France has won the tournament, however. You have to go all the way back to 2010’s Grand Slam for a cause to celebrate if you are a French fan.

For reference, current World Rugby Player of the Year, Dupont, was just 15 the last time it happened.

Is the Six Nations France Ready to Lose?

Absolutely not.

As good as France looked against New Zealand, the likes of Ireland and England will test them with the same might as any other top team on the planet.

The Irish look great value at +350, but must travel to both Paris and London, which makes their campaign one to envy.

France will also host England, which further helps their cause.

The contest commonly referred to as “Le Crunch” will be the final game on the final day of the tournament.

France for the Six Nations? You’d be brave to back against them, but perhaps except for Italy, any team can beat any other on their day in this tournament.
