2022 MLB Home Run Leader Odds at the All-Star Break

Who doesn’t love watching players hit the ball out of the park? The MLB has seen a power surge over the past few years, which has continued through the first half of the 2022 season.
Aaron Judge leads the majors with 33 home runs, but three other players have over 25 home runs. Can they track down Judge in the battle for the home run leader?
It’ll be fun to watch over the second half of the season. Let’s see how BetOnline views the 2022 home run battle.
2022 MLB HR Leader Odds
Aaron Judge has dealt with his contract situation throughout the season, but it hasn’t impacted his home run total. He’s the biggest star in the All-Star Game, as he aims to win the home run title for the second time.
Kyle Schwarber is the only player within striking distance. Austin Riley and Yordan Alvarez have over 25 home runs, but the odds aren’t giving them much of a chance. Can they make a run at Judge?
The New York Yankees lead the MLB in home runs. That’s in large part to Judge, but don’t forget about Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Rizzo.
Stanton led the majors with 59 home runs in 2017. He has the most home runs in the season since 2001.
Why is Judge the MLB HR Title Favorite?
Aaron Judge burst onto the scene with 52 home runs in his rookie season. He hasn’t had another 40+ homer season, but that’s a product of not staying healthy. Judge has been among the best power hitters since 2017.
Surprisingly, Judge didn’t have a great start to the 2022 season. He only had one home run through 13 games but broke through with eight home runs in ten games. That’s when the MLB home run leader odds gave him the upper hand.
The biggest advantage for Judge has been the multi-home run games.
- Aaron Judge: 7
- Kyle Schwarber: 5
- Mike Trout: 4
He has seven games with two home runs, leading the majors. That’s a significant reason the latest 2022 AL MVP odds have him as the favorite. Can he keep it going?
Aside from the early-season struggle, Judge hasn’t skipped a beat. He led the majors with 12 home runs in May, and his 11 in June were second to Kyle Schwarber. Judge started to hit his stride ahead of the All-Star break.
He’s in a strong position to win the HR title, but anything can happen.
Can Schwarber Track Down Judge?
The 2022 MLB HR leader odds give Kyle Schwarber the best chance to defeat Aaron Judge. Schwarber has been a great power hitter throughout his career, clearing 25+ home runs in five of his last six seasons.
Last season, he went on an insane tear in June, hitting 16 home runs in 18 games. We haven’t seen him slow down in 2022.
Since Kyle Schwarber started his home run rampage with the Nats back on June 12 of last season, he’s hit 51 bombs in 147 games. The only player in baseball that has more homers is Aaron Judge (54), but he needed 171 games. pic.twitter.com/4wPL2WlMGy

He leads the NL with 29 home runs. It’ll be tough to track down Judge, but Schwarber leads the MLB with 18 home runs since June 1. Perhaps he’ll use his disappointing performance in the Home Run Derby as motivation.
It’s not often you see a power hitter hitting leadoff, but the Philadelphia Phillies put Schwarber in that spot. That gives him more at-bats than most power hitters. It could give him the upper hand in the home run battle.
Betting on the 2022 MLB HR Leader
We should see a competitive battle for the home run title. The 2022 MLB home run leader odds have Aaron Judge as the favorite, but I’m not ready to give him the crown. We’ve seen him struggle with injuries in the past.
We could see Austin Riley, Mike Trout, Giancarlo Stanton, or any top contender go on a home run binge. That’d go a long way towards defeating Judge.
