2022 Bar Poker Open World Championship Set to Hit Las Vegas on June 11

  • Las Vegas’ Golden Nugget will host the poker festival which begins on June 11, 2022.
  • The 2022 Bar Poker Open is headlined by the eagerly anticipated $230 buy-in World Championship event.
  • Players looking to get involved can do so by way of a two-step qualification process.

If you’re looking to take a break from playing at the best online poker rooms, Las Vegas will be hosting the 2022 Bar Poker Open (BPO) World Championship.

Players from around the world will head to Golden Nugget for a shot at winning the event. The world’s greatest bar poker championship is scheduled for June 11 to 17, with a series of poker tournaments running throughout the week.

While there are plenty of guaranteed payouts up for grabs, ambitious poker players will be hoping to earn a seat at the No-Limit Hold’em World Championship. The main event is slated for June 13 to 16 and comes with a $230 buy-in.

Read on to find out more about this prestigious event and how you can qualify for the BPO World Championship!

What is the BPO World Championship?

Billed as “the World’s Largest, The Funnest, The Most Social, and Most Rewarding Bar Poker Championship on Earth,” the BPO is a popular championship with players.

Given that the championship is only open to pre-qualified players and those who are associated with affiliate leagues, not everyone will get a chance to play. There are other games during the week that can be entered without matching the above criteria, however.

But don’t let that stop you from trying. After all, qualifying for the championship event could be as easy as applying for a seat at a BPO event in a bar.

If you manage to finish in among the top three players, you will receive a BPO token. With over $600,000 in annual prizes up for grabs, there is a real incentive here.

What’s more, those who finish in the circa 4% will earn a seat in the championship event.

When Does the BPO World Championship Take Place?

The first of two flights of the BPO World Championship is scheduled for Day 1 on June 13 at 11 am. The second will go down at 4 pm.

A third flight is accessible to players who played Day 1A and didn’t make the cut. This is known as Day 1B, which gets underway on June 14 at 11 am from the Golden Nugget. This is a sound opportunity for players to have a second bite of the cherry and is a nice touch, overall.

Day 2 is when things will really begin to pick up. The action happens on June 16 at 2 pm, with a final table set to be streamed on the Bar Poker Open YouTube and Twitch channels.

Before and after the main event, there will be some smaller tournaments for players to get involved in. For instance, there is a $125 buy-in Green Chip Bounty event set for June 14 as well as a “Tag Team” tournament with a $100 entry fee.

Then, closing up the action on July 17 is the Bar Poker Open $300 buy-in Mystery Bounty event that comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000.

If that all sounds good, it’s time to start practicing your craft. Our complete guide to betting on poker will help you up your game!
