2022-23 UEFA Champions League Odds Released – Man City Favored to Win

- The 2022-23 UEFA Champions League odds have been released.
- Manchester City is the bookmakers’ favorite to lift the trophy.
- Liverpool, PSG, and Bayern Munich are also among the favorites.
Less than a fortnight ago, Real Madrid beat Liverpool to win the 2022 UEFA Champions League final. Thanks to the best soccer betting sites, you can already wager on the winner of next year’s final.
Despite clinching a record 14th UCL crown, Real Madrid is not among the bookies’ frontrunners to lift the trophy in 2023. Instead, Manchester City is the early favorite – followed by Liverpool, PSG, and Bayern Munich.
Can the Cityzens finally get their hands on the elusive UCL silverware? Will Liverpool reach another final? Could Real Madrid upset the Champions League odds once again? It’s time to check out the early prices.
Early 2022-23 Champions League Odds
According to the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League odds at Betway, Pep Guardiola’s men are in a league of their own. Man City is priced at just 4.00 to lift the trophy, with Liverpool (7.00), PSG (8.00), and Bayern Munich (8.50) up next.
Believe it or not, Real Madrid is priced at 13.00 to win back-to-back titles. Not only have Los Blancos won claimed more UCL crowns than any other club, but they have also won five of the previous nine.
Chelsea (15.00) and Barcelona (17.00) are also expected to challenge for the trophy, while Juventus (26.00) and Tottenham (26.00) are potential sleepers. Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Inter are all priced at 34.00.
What Happened Last Season?
Once again, the UEFA Champions League dished up tons of thrills and spills last season. It’s safe to say that Europe’s premier club competition did not disappoint.
Man City looked destined to reach the final after dispatching Sporting and Atletico in the early knockout rounds. However, Real Madrid produced a stunning comeback to dump the EPL champion out of the semi-finals.
On the other side of the draw, Liverpool secured knockout victories over Inter, Benfica, and Villarreal to set up a final showdown with Real Madrid. The Spaniards ended up claiming their fifth title in nine years with a 1-0 win in Paris.
- Real Madrid – 5
- Barcelona – 1
- Bayern Munich – 1
- Chelsea – 1
- Liverpool – 1
Vinicius Junior scored the winning goal, but the tournament belonged to Karim Benzema. The French striker netted 15 goals in 12 UCL appearances last term, including back-to-back hat-tricks against PSG and Chelsea.
Benzema will be 35 by the time the 2022-23 knockout phase begins. Can he continue to deliver on the biggest stage of all? Or will Erling Haaland overtake Benzema as Europe’s most prolific striker?
Why Is Manchester City Favored to Win?
It feels like the Cityzens are on the verge of ending their long wait for Champions League success. Following three straight quarter-final exits, they lost the 2021 final before falling in the semi-finals last season.
Last month, Man City clinched yet another Premier League title – meaning they have won four of the previous five. The challenge in 2022-23 will be to carry their domestic form onto the European stage.
Many believe the arrival of Erling Haaland will propel Man City to the next level. The 21-year-old will join the club next month, having bagged 23 goals in 19 Champions League appearances. He could prove to be the difference.
Who Else Could Lift the Trophy?
Having reached three of the past five UCL finals, Liverpool is expected to mount a serious challenge for the title next year. Last season’s runners-up lost the 2018 final to Real Madrid before securing the silverware in 2019.
PSG is also expected to compete for the trophy. The Parisians lost the 2020 final to Bayern Munich – another key contender – and will be buoyed up by Kylian Mbappe’s commitment to the club.
