Which Pick Jerry Jeudy Will Be Selected at in the 2020 NFL Draft?
NFL Draft talk is starting to heat up, as we are officially into the month of April. This year’s event will obviously be a lot different than past renditions, but that won’t remotely stop the excitement around it.
Part of the enthusiasm is thanks to the elite prospects, with Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy being near the top of the list.
He’s certainly in contention to be the first wide receiver drafted this year, while several teams in need of help at receiver should be interested in his services.
The question, of course, is which team will actually draft him? More specifically, the top NFL Draft betting websites are wondering when he’ll be taken.
To answer that, let’s take a look at the odds for which pick he’ll be selected at over at BetOnline.
Which Pick Will Jerry Jeudy Be Drafted?
One of the best pieces of NFL Draft betting advice you can take is shopping props and odds.
MyBookie has Jerry Jeudy’s draft pick projection set at 11.5, which gives you a better range and price, depending on where you stand.
BetOnline is arguably the best sportsbook for betting on the draft, though, so for this post, we’ll settle with their odds.
Jeudy is regarded as a first-round lock, and it would be an absolute shock if he slid outside of the first 20 picks. This 12.5 pick range is a pretty good starting point, and you can really argue both sides of this wager.
Before coming to a conclusion, let’s do just that.
Why Jeudy Could Be Picked Under 12.5
The Under applies to Jeudy being picked at the 12th overall selection or earlier. This means he’d go somewhere between the first 12 picks. If he goes 13th or later, it’s a loss for the bettor.
I don’t hate the Under at all, seeing as Jerry Jeudy is the top receiver in my draft when you look at my 2020 NFL Draft player rankings.
There is no question of need, either, as several teams picking inside the top 12 (Giants, Dolphins, Jaguars, Jets, and Raiders) all could use a big-time receiver.
Two stand out more than any — New York and Las Vegas — and should very much be in the market to land a stud wide receiver.
Why Jeudy Could Be Picked Over 12.5
The main reason why Jerry Jeudy could slide a bit in the 2020 NFL Draft would be the insane depth at the wide receiver position.
A lot of people deem CeeDee Lamb as the superior prospect, while even teammate Henry Ruggs III has been mocked in front of him at times.
The other thing that could throw a wrench in the Jerry Jeudy draft spokes are unexpected variables. This would pertain to teams disregarding their major needs and/or teams that don’t need a receiver trading up in the draft and pushing the order down a bit.
The value possibly lies with Jerry Jeudy being picked beyond the first 12 picks, but it isn’t what I see happening logically.
Jeudy is my top receiver, and I think he goes first at his position. That has him going to the receiver-needy Jets at 11th overall, just like my colleague Michael Wynn predicted in his 2020 New York Jets mock draft.
Even if I’m wrong, I still anticipate both the Jets and Raiders taking a swing at a wide receiver with the 11th and 12th picks in this draft.
For this particular bet, you needn’t care which team actually picks Jeudy. If he goes within the first 12 picks, it’s a win. At -170, the odds and logic together point to that happening.
