Vitebsk vs. FC Minsk Betting Preview With Pick – Belarusian Premier League, June 21

Vitebsk vs. FC Minsk Belarusian Premier League June 21

FC Minsk continues to struggle since coming back from those two postponed games in the middle of May. This weekend, the capital city club travels to take on Vitebsk.

The home side has made draws something of a specialty but managed to pick up just its fourth win of the season last week. Read on for my Vitebsk vs. FC Minsk prediction and betting pick.

Odds for Vitebsk vs. FC Minsk

Vitebsk to Win+104
The Draw+241
FC Minsk to Win+265

Vitebsk is made the favorite to win this one by BetOnline, but the odds are not as short as I would expect considering FC Minsk’s recent results and off-the-field problems. The home side has drawn five of the last six, so that might be another bet to take a look at, too.

Vitebsk vs. FC Minsk Match Preview

Only the ultra-defensive Rukh Brest has drawn as many games as Vitebsk this season, and more impressively, the home side this weekend has managed to take a point from opponents such as BATE, Energetik-BGU, and Shakhtyor in the last two months.

Those results have placed Vitebsk comfortably in mid-table, and it shouldn’t have too many worries about any relegation battle in the second half of the season, even with the bottom clubs finally winning games now.

FC Minsk might have a more anxious remainder of the campaign, however. There are the two games in hand on the majority of the teams around it in the league, but at the current time, it doesn’t seem as if Minsk would be able to win them. Belshina and Smolevichi have both closed the gap in the bottom three now, so there is a new sense of urgency for points.

Andrey Razin’s side lost to Isloch last week by a single goal, and that has to be taken as a positive of sorts after the thrashing at the hands of Dynamo Brest the week before. The second-half collapse in that fixture was worrying at a time when FC Minsk needs to be winning games.

Prediction and Pick

  • Vitebsk to Win

Sergey Yasinksy might be quite happy for his Vitebsk side to carry on picking up a point from most games and coasting in the middle of the league, but a few victories could boost the club into top three contention. That might not happen, but there should be three points from this fixture on Sunday.
