Let’s begin with the Uni Lions, who have the most reckless but also most entertaining style in the whole league. The team crushed the league leaders twice last week and entered this one with a lot of momentum.

The good run was interrupted by a defeat against Chinatrust Brothers, but Uni Lions got quick revenge by destroying the same opponent by 12-6 on Thursday.

The storming 5-0 start in the opening inning was the key, and that’s not the first time the side has been so fast right off the bat. The problem is that Uni Lions often loses when that doesn’t happen.

The record against Fubon Guardians this season is a great example of that trend. The opponent was better initially in the first clash between the two sides and won comfortably.

In the second game, Uni Lions took the initiative early on and controlled the encounter from start to finish. The big question for Friday is if the home side’s batting will take off early. Fubon Guardians’ pitchers will have to hold the fort, and I’m not sure they can do that based on what we’ve seen so far.

On top of that, the underdog has lost four of their last five games and looked destined for the last place in the CPBL.

There’s little doubt that Uni Lions is the most unpredictable team, and yet, the recent form of the home side suggests that a win is possible against Fubon Guardians. The price of +125 is simply too high to skip, so that’s my final pick.
